About Me

I started taking photographs May 2, 1979 at the Walter Koebel Hall in Russelshiem, West Germany. Ted Nugent was playing, a friend who was a G.I. let me borrow a Kodak 110 instamatic camera. The pictures I took at the Nugent concert sucked. Then the very next month I caught Van Halen and had front row seats but forgot the camera. I realized if I had brought that camera I would have taken some decent photos so I worked that summer to buy a Pentax ME 35mm. With that camera I shot Boston, Rainbow, Jethro Tull, Frank Zappa & Black Sabbath. The best concert I shot that summer was Led Zeppelin on June 30,1980 which would be the 6th to the last concert they would ever play. I moved to Texas in July 1980 and met Darrell Abbott at Bowie High school. At this time I started working with the local bands and fanzines, Cutthroat Press (Jerry Warden), Skull Press, Grey Matter, Metal Detector plus many more across the country. I had photographs published in all the local magazines, Buddy, Texas Entertainment, Music News, Jam Magazine, etc. I finally landed my big gig with the legendary Metal Forces Magazine from England in 1988. Metal Forces Magazine then branched off into Terrorizer, Thrash & Burn and Extreme Noise magazines. Also at that time I had an agent in London Robert Ellis RepFoto (Metal Hammer,Kerrang etc). My agent in the US is Frank White(Hit Parader,Circus,Metal Edge,Metal Maniacs,Guitar World plus many more). Flash forward over the years I flew across the country and I shot many many concerts (too many to list) I got to see some amazing shows. I shot EVERYONE from AC/DC to Led Zeppelin, The Cure, INXS, Geto Boys & MC Hammer (many different genres). Then in 1995 the music industry changed, the heavy music that I liked was no longer accepted. I then just took pictures of Pantera, other major bands & local bands/friends that I liked. Over this time since 1980 I got to take many pictures of my best friend Darrell Abbott's band Pantera. We all grew together in popularity over the years and would run into each other on the road at different gigs. I shot alot of Darrell's early Washburn ads. Over the years I took several thousand photographs of Pantera/Dimebag/Damageplan (From the early 80's till 2004). I will always miss my friend.God Bless his soul....... These days I own a sign company, hunt for indian artifacts and I play in the heavy metal band Scum Scunge. www.scumscunge.com
