Post-Debate Polls Show Rep. Ron Paul Seen as Lopsided Victor in GOP DebatesBy Mark AndersonWhen the American people hear the truth, they apparently recognize it. And perhaps they sense that it will set them free. Case in point: Nearly all the major online polls show that, in the minds of many Americans, Rep. Ron Paul (RTexas) trounced his opponents in the May 3 Republican Presidential Debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif.The 10-term Texas congressman, one of 10 hopefuls to participate in this first GOP debate in the 2008 presidential race, left John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and other big-name candidates in the dust with his theme of a smaller, less intrusive, non-interventionist, far less expensive but vastly more constitutional government—a theme that mainstream Americans rarely hear from the controlled mass media.But when a sizable cross section of Americans finally did hear Paul, a medical doctor and columnist, articulate this theme, many reacted with enthusiasm, according to several indicators."Congressman Ron Paul," stated a press release from Paul's Virginia campaign headquarters, "finished first in the MSNBC poll following the GOP primary debate. . . . Dr. Paul received 43 percent, beating the second-place finisher [former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney] by five points and crushing the rest of the field."Paul, loved by Americans from all 50 states who make up the nation's embattled but resilient "constitutional minority," is not so well known by the average mass media-reared American. But as Paul's campaign chairman, Kent Snyder, noted: "Last night (May 3) Americans met Ron Paul and loved what they heard. Dr. Paul's message of freedom and limited government resonates with Republicans hungry for a return to their party's core values. Ron Paul is the only true conservative in the GOP race. Americans saw that last night. The campaign looks forward to further debates and opportunities so even more Americans will discover Dr. Paul's message of freedom, peace and prosperity."The other candidates, besides McCain, Giuliani and Romney, are Tommy Thompson, Tom Tancredo, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Jim Gilmore and Sam Brownback.A look at network polls, including ABC and MSNBC, conducted soon after the California debate showed Paul to be the clear winner. For example, an MSNBC "live vote" poll, with a little more than 62,000 respondents, showed that Paul had 45% of the vote from those asked, "Who stood out the most?" The next closest for that question was Romney who had about 22%. The others were as follows:Giuliani, 16%; McCain, 7.6%; Huckabee, 3.6%; Thompson, 3.3%;
Tancredo, 2.8%; Brownback, 2.4%; Hunter, 1.8%; and Gilmore, 1.3%.The percentages were nearly the same for the question of who showed the best leadership qualities. Paul got 41% of the vote for that question at one point in the survey. An unscientific ABC News poll, which asked the question, "Which Republican came out on top?" reported that Paul received a whopping 86.5% of the vote with 8,306 people responding. Notably, 8.5% responded that it doesn't matter who was on top because they do not want any Republican in the White House. From there, 1.2% of respondents responded that "none" came out on top, and the remaining candidates got 1.1% or less.Paul was also credited with some good "one liners," though he's not generally known as a one-liner guy. "It's government's job to protect the autonomy and privacy of its citizens, not the secrecy of government," said Paul. He was referring to the Real ID Act, the law passed by Congress to create new state drivers licenses that adhere to federal regulations and point toward a full-fledged national identification system of potentially Orwellian proportions.As a congressman, Paul is well known for consistently sponsoring legislation to get the United States out of the United Nations, and he's a stalwart opponent of the federal income tax, runaway spending under big government, and the military occupation of Iraq.Asked by AFP whether Paul will be able to keep his congressional seat even if he loses in his presidential bid, Press Secretary Benton said: "Ron got 60% of the vote in 2006—a tough year for Republicans nationwide."Benton was referring to the pervasive anti-Bush sentiment that affected Republican candidates at all levels of government.Benton also added that while Paul had to miss a few congressional votes to participate in California, he plans to continue serving the 14th district of Texas and will miss very few congressional votes even as he campaigns for president.

Jon, The need exists to ask which Republicans you are referring to, because it makes a difference? Read the 9-11 report where Michael Scheurer, who was CIA chief of the Bin Laden Division, states exactly that the reason we are being attacked is because we are over there bombing those people and have been for ten years. There were no Al Queda or Taliban in Iraq , not until the Criminal Bush Admin. sent our troops over there to secure the oil fields for themselves. Half of the force present in Iraq is made up of a mercenary army that is also known as BlackWaters. They work for the Corporate Elites and the Bush-Cheney regime. Some if not most of the Republican Candidates are neo-cons and work for the corporate elite. Ron Paul did not say that we deserved to be attacked, he said that this governments interference over there is why these Islamic terrorists are coming here to attack us. So blame the fake Republican criminals and the Democratic corporate elitists criminals for this mess. The original Republicans from early on were about preserving the Republic of the United States and the Constitution, which gives us inalienable rights that the corporate elitists want to take away from us. That means you too.
If these criminals get into office again then your freedoms like expressing your opinion here will be gone. Now if your are frightened then it may be understandable that you might want to be buddying up to the neo-cons so that if they get one of their own into office then you will be o.k. because you supported them. That is until the micro-chip is put on your drivers license and then under your skin and when you complain about any injustice that should befall you, someone will turn it off and you will be on the outs and starving shortly thereafter. Then you will scream why did this happen? You will say that the neo-cons lied to you and that certainly won't make them turn it back on. You will be a slave and it will be what you asked for. I want this nation to remain the sovereign nation of the United States of America, not the North American Union of Mexico, U.S., and Canada. The people of Canada do not want this NAU either. But believe me there are millions of people in Mexico that would just love to take your job and you can be sure that your children will be speaking Spanish in no time. If they pass this immigration bill you will see the very borders began to disintegrate before your very eyes between Mexico and the U.S. and the first microchips will be put in the i.d.s of the Mexican people who begin to flood across the borders and those that are already here. It is hand in hand with the immigration bill. If they pass it then they will in step pass the National I.D. and it will have the Micro-chip in it. The situation will require as Giuliani stated that they want know everyone that comes and goes from The U.S.,but that won't be enough because they will say that the only way to totally prevent abuse of the i.d. system will be to require that everyone must recieve the i.d. chip under the skin. That will be the day you wake up from your fantasy about these neo-con fake Republicans and say what the hell did you criminals do. You cannot kill the beast unless you cut of its head and that is the Federal Reserve for that is where the corporate elites hide. The Federal Reserve bank is a private bank not a government entity by any measure. The money that they loan the U.S. is then charged at interest compounded. They print money out of thin air with no gold backing it and then they loan it to the U.S. at interest and then order the I.R.S. to collect it from the American people. They then collect the legal tax on businesses and also the illegal taxes from wage earners and pay the Federal Reserve. The interest that is charged is equal to the money stolen from the wage earners, which is equal to the legally collected taxes from businesses. It is in the trillions of dollars. The Federal Reserve was illegally given the job of minting the money for the U.S. without a full required 2/3rds vote in Congress by doing it while the majority of congress was away during xmas break, 1937. The U.S. was required by the Fed. Reserve to give them our gold to hold as collateral and backing for the currency. They then forced the American people to begin paying the FEDERAL INCOME TAX on their wages which was and is still illegal to this day. The Supreme Court ruled that the government had not been granted any new powers to tax the American wage earner and so ruled that it was illegal to do so. The Federal Reserve and those like minded proponents tried for years to get that overturned but to this day it still stands. No new powers were granted to tax wage earners period!!! The Fed Reserve and The I.R.S. waited until the voluntary social security was made mandatory and then they pressed the American People to pay a voluntary income tax as a patiotic duty and some did until it grew to many that paid and then they made the income tax mandatory. The said they had the authority to do so and coupled with the lies that it was going to social programs throughout the U.S. anyway, it was accepted by very unhappy American wage earners. So the Federal Reserve is paid interest on money that was not theirs to begin, with with money that is illegally collected by the I.R.S that does not,not one dime, go to the social programs in the U.S.. The suspicion is that the American citizens gold is missing from the Federal Reserve and they resist every attempt to audit to see if it is there at all or has been stolen.This money is powering these corporate elite of the Federal Reserve Corporation, to take control of all of us and the same is occuring many other countries as we speak. Bogota, Columbia is rioting against the free trade contracts signed by Bush and their leaders. The people of Columbia and Venezuela and many european countries are trying to resist this tyranny of this New World Order and they are dying in the streets fighting this because they know it is slavery and then death. This is repeating over and over throughout the world. 9-11 was a staged event using the fear that struck American citizens as the way of no resistance to their plans to take complete control with absolute ironclad military efficiency. We are already becoming a police state. The fact that millions of Americans are armed is a big problem for the globalists. But they intend to use the troops that have been trained in house to house and street fighting to disarm the American people and kill them or put those that surrender in prison camps here in the U.S. and abroad. They will be classified as enemy combatents with no rights under the Geneva Conventions and no right to habeas corpus. 9-11 was an inside job and those that have been participants in that crime have all made millions, collectively trillions of dollars. The 900 million in gold in the World Trade Center is missing except for 200 million that was abandoned in trucks in the tunnels leading out from under the towers. The thieves ran out of time removing it when the order was given to detonate the thermate charges planted in the towers. WTC #7 was the control center for the operations so it also had to be demolished with planned demolition charges. Giuliani knew in advance and he has profited. Do you realize that almost all of the Republican Candidates will profit as well with these globalist plans. Tommy Thompson is heavily involved with the micro-chip manufacturers. Take a close look at all of the candidates and you will see their ties and there motivations to push the NAU, biometrics, and this immigration bill along with even more sinister plans. Ron Paul is sworn to abolish the Federal Reserve and the I.R.S. and do defend the Constitution and the sovereignty of the United States. Where do you stand on this Jon? Are you an American Patriot or are you a neo-con corporate globalist? The Democrats cannot be trusted because they too work for the corporate elitists. Ron Paul is the only choice for the American people. Ron Paul is my choice because he has integrity beyond compare to any of the other candidates. He will do what he says. Remember that it is still up to the American people, even after he is elected, to change the laws back to a true Constitutional Government. The American people will need to be ever vigilent lest the same horrors are repeated again. It is very complicated but atleast with all the evidence that has been amassed we can finally began to put names and faces on the dark figures running things from behind the scenes. Tell me Jon who writes your check? Does it come from money tainted with the blood of the victims of 9-11 or the soldiers who know they are there because of the oil and this criminal administration lies and they are dying for nothing? How long have you been really investigating 9-11 with an open mind? Do you think it was not an inside job and a massive cover-up? The mainstream media and the globalists who are pushing for a North American Union aren't about to tell us that we are winning any battles. It is so exciting to witness so many state legislatures introducing and passing anti-NAU resolutions. How can we not feel encouraged— with each victory we are getting stronger, waking more people up, and bringing them to our side. We can't allow ourselves to become overconfident or complacent, but it is alright now and then to give ourselves a pat on the back. This is going to be a long war and we need to be prepared as things are going to get worse before they get better. We need to remain positive, stick to the facts, and get our message out. It is incredible just how far this movement has come in the last year, but there is a lot more that needs to be done if we are going to truly defeat the NAU.One of our greatest obstacles in trying to expose the NAU is the real lack of knowledge and understanding by not only the general public but by our elected representatives as well. The mainstream media for the most part ignores reporting anything related to the NAU. If it is addressed we are all called conspiracy theorists and told that it's not really happening. Our politicians need to be held more accountable, and this starts by calling or writing our elected officials and telling them that we oppose the NAU. We need to ask them if they are aware of this issue and what they plan to do about it. If they are ignorant to this agenda we need to educate them. As they tell more of their colleagues, it will lead to a chain reaction. That is exactly what is happening at the state level— we are cleaning the globalists clocks even with the odds firmly stacked up against us.More state legislatures have introduced or have passed anti-NAU resolutions, and it is having a domino effect. In fact, one third of state legislatures have introduced resolutions opposing the developing North American Union, the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), and the NAFTA Superhighway. Some of the state resolutions have been passed while others are moving forward. There is a chance that some might not make it to a floor vote before legislative sessions end. At the federal level, Rep. Virgil Goode R-V. has introduced several resolutions opposing the NAU. Some view these resolutions as toothless and largely symbolic. This is simply not the case and we cannot allow our accomplishments to be diminished. We are standing up to the globalist traitors and letting them know that their efforts to create an NAU without congressional oversight will not continue without a fight.Idaho became the first state to pass anti-NAU resolutions in both the House and the Senate, calling upon Congress to drop out of the NAU and withdraw from any further participation in the SPP. This was followed by Montana who passed similar resolutions in both houses as well. Utah 's House of Representatives also passed resolutions opposing the NAU but the bill died before making it to the Senate floor. House Representative Steven Sandstrom was the one who introduced the resolutions in Utah. He stated, “I have been contacted by legislators from across the nation who have wanted to do this same thing in their states. I have heard from Georgia , Louisiana , Texas , Wyoming , and other states wanting to do this same thing. Washington will have to listen, and this is the only way to defeat the SPP— through movements like this across the nation, through education. No one would accept this if they knew what it was, another European type Union for the Americas .â€In Texas , a bill was recently passed by an overwhelming majority in both Houses, effectively killing the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) for at least two years. It should easily have the necessary votes to prevent Gov. Rick Perry, a stanch supporter of the TTC, from trying to veto the bill. The TTC is to be the first leg of a proposed NAFTA Superhighway that would extend through Texas all the way to Canada . The bill places a two year moratorium on any public/private partnerships involving toll road projects financed and operated by foreign companies. The Spanish company Cintra was slated to partly finance, build, and then operate the TTC as a toll road. Many private property owners, ranchers, farmers and rural communities lie in the path of the TTC's construction. Hopefully this two year moratorium will bring about a reevaluation of possible effects, along with the selling of our infrastructure to foreign interests. There is no doubt that it will further expose more corruption and cronyism. The Federal Highway Administration has threatened Texas with the loss of highway funding in retaliation over this bill. One must understand that these victories, although not openly addressed by our foes, are not going unnoticed.More people are waking up to the reality of a NAU through the diligent efforts of true patriots like Lou Dobbs, Jerome Corsi, members of the John Birch Society, and those in the alternative media like Alex Jones. Presidential hopeful Ron Paul of Texas, a true defender of American sovereignty, admittedly opposes the NAU. Even more importantly we are in this fight because of concerned and motivated citizens who are making their voices heard. We need to educate our elected officials, our families, and our friends to this treasonous and destructive plan. The mainstream media can ignore us all they want, but the fact is we our making a difference, winning battles, and growing stronger everyday. We have the ability and power to make this a significant election issue in both the U.S. and Canada . ----------Think of all the people that were jailed, their personal property taken, their lives destroyed for not filing or paying "income tax", They should all be set free and their rightful property restored to them and compensation for damages given. The I.R.S. still needs to collect taxes from companies and corporations that generate profit as is required and authorized by the 16th Amendment. There is no law requiring a "wage earner" to file or pay. Get the movie off Google called "the Constitution,Taxes and You" it is the exact laws and codes and how you do your defense correctly. Every American wage earner needs to know the truth and how to defend against the illegal actions of the I.R.S. . American Citizens must realize that the Democrats and the Republicans both have known this lie and have never once, either, come forward to tell the truth because both parties ultimately work for the Federal Reserve. Neither party can be trusted. Vote for only a presidential candidate that has signed an affidavit to abolish the Federal Reserve Bank(of thieves). Pretty soon the net erupted and they were swamped with calls and emails demanding that Ron Paul be included.

It would seem like ABC is learning a valuable lesson that DIGG.com just recently learned about modern day America. Americans talk back. And when enough of us talk back and say the same thing, they listen. If they don't listen, we tell the world. Then they listen.Regardless of whose poll numbers you use, it has become obvious to anyone willing to look, that Americans all over this country, responded to Cong. Ron Paul's message and his straight forward programs to rescue this train wreck that The United States has become. Immigration, The Economy, The War, as you go down the list, his common sense approach and singly focused view of what is best for America within the framework of what the Constitution says, makes him stand out from the rest of the group of professional liars, thieves, and grade B actors like a bonfire on a dark night!I wouldn't want to be Ron Paul. I've heard that he has some real concerns about his safety should he become a serious contender. And I must admit that we as a country don't have a great record when it come to protecting our leaders when they don't go along with the Bankers and other corporate Godfathers.

There are many Americans starting to wake up to the reality that something is very wrong with our nation and it's policies at home and abroad. Knowing just exactly what is wrong is paramount to finding the solutions to correct the failures we all see evident. There is not one problem, but many. We are a people diverse in our cultural, economical, philosophical and religious backgrounds and therefore we will not always agree on one solution. When it comes to the basics, though we are pretty much all alike, busy with the same concerns with life. If we look at the big picture the small stuff is inconsequential. The things that the majority of people are so consumed with, pale in insignificance in comparison to those things that truly matter, such as life and death. The preservation of our loved one's lives, the preservation of "a way of life" that supports and promotes life. Many would agree, that promoting life and protecting our loved ones and ourselves is our greatest concern. Let's simplify this by listing what is basic for promoting life. LOVE. That's a short list! Although it is true that the "Original Author" of that list did expand upon it by giving a few, (more precisely 10), basic ways to promote life and as well happiness. This nation was indeed born out of the desire to escape tyranny and persecution and the founding fathers used those 10 ways of love as the template of design to build this great nation. Our early justice system was modeled after those basic laws of love. As a young nation we had to mature further and realize we could not any longer allow the persecution of others who were brought here against their will, nor any one else for that matter, for any reason. Then, as a nation, we demonstrated that we would not let tyrants continue to dominate and destroy other nations. We do have a great deal to be proud of, and also so many things to be ashamed of as well. It seems that while half the nation is working for a good cause the other half is undermining it. The important thing is that we, collectively, as a nation have the potential to be a better, greater force for good. Not just for our own sake but also for the other nations of the world, the people of the world. People like you and me make up those "other" nations, and we, like them, are all in need of the same basic elements to promote life, health and hope. Nations=countries=states=provinces=counties=towns=neighborho
ods=houses=?. What is in those houses but you and me, we, us, the people. We, the People. Our government exists for the purpose of helping to put the common affairs of the people in order so as to prevent chaos and promote life, to serve the people. There is no doubt that this great country of ours has been enslaved by an unseen tyrant, aided by power hungry dollar mongers who have no interest in promoting life, only death and despair while filling their vaults with blood money. Let us, wake up and sound the alarm. The thieves have come to rob us of everything good, including our very basic liberties. As we now see this evil come upon us, we now know it did not happen over night. Many of us, I myself included, also realize that we are not going to regain control of our government without sacrifice and we no longer have the luxury of time, for there is none left. We must identify the enemy. Let us identify the wrongs that are being perpetrated against us. Ultimately, let's start making change now. That change must come from within each of us and if we fail to make our own individual change it will be clear who is the real enemy. It will be clear who is the cause of our nation's sorrows and each of our own personal heart breaks. We will see that the enemy is "us" because we let these power mongers take control of all that was deemed good and great in this, our wonderful "AMERICA". It starts from inside of each of us. Yes, there are dark, evil, forces in control at this time, but our victory will be in that we fought back, that we stood up to federal tyranny and said no more. We are small when alone but giant when we stand together. Let each of us examine our own hearts and shed our shortcomings and be courageous in the face of seemingly impossible odds. For though we see what we perceive to be an enemy coming to do harm, the greater crime would be to do nothing to resist. It starts in the heart and home and then the community and spreads outward and upward and becomes unstoppable. There is a movement of people gaining momentum who know now that we have been illegally taxed for many decades, and lied to about the real events of 9/11 and the real reason we are losing sons and daughters in Iraq. We also know now that the administration in power gained office illegally because the voting machines were preprogrammed to count the votes in their favor and that fraud was perpetrated as well in the past few elections. There have been so many other ills and evils put upon good people for so long with no end in sight and it all stems from the greed and corruption of a few. The powers that be will strip away our ability to defend ourselves by taking away the right to bear arms. Some say "defend against what ?" but the scary truth is we may have to defend against our own government agents. Many people do not realize that the government we have come to hate and fear is being run by foreign powers. It is not controlled by the true American Citizens and so there is a confusion among patriots. When you hear "love it or leave it", it is a saying usually thrown out by a well meaning patriot who is not believing there is anything wrong with this system or who says it is better than anywhere else in the world. We have the right to criticize the functioning of our government and if it is in error we were given the right to change it.It is quite possible to love a nation of people and hate the government oppressing those same citizens. Bush made a big mistake when he said, regarding people who disagree with the Bush/Cheney Cartel, "If you are not with us then you are with the terrorists!". He called every American that did not agree with his regime a terrorist. That has made many people angry. I am sure that Saddam Hussein said the same thing to all of those that dared to oppose him and he is removed by the regime that is enslaving us. That is ironic! Doesn't that sound like something Hitler said to each country he invaded. I can tell you that there have been many dictators who have said the same thing. They first imprisoned those who disagreed and tortured and killed any who defied them. In this country there hundreds of prisons already built with no inmates in them yet and more slated to be built. They sit empty waiting for the day when they will fill them with people who choose not to comply with the governments demands of loyalty. Soon we will not be able to buy or sell without a computer chip implanted in us and that will start with a chip embedded in our driver license or state i.d. card. What better way to bring a country to its knees than to force a control of it's people to comply or starve. They will start with those in the military, those incarcerated, and those on welfare and medicare, elderly and children. It will include all who are allowed passage into this country. All essential government agents will have to comply or they will not be allowed to hold civil office. We are at the threshhold of that door. We must start our vigil by protecting all media independents. The reason we did not know of these horrors before is because the great propaganda machine took control of the media giants and shut them down from speaking the truth. They have been bought off and we have been lied to. The next step against the American People will be to use attacks by our own domestic terrorists, like the Tim McVeighs',the Columbine killers, etc., to convince us to lay down our arms. We all know that guns don't kill people, people kill people with guns. There is something wrong with peoples hearts when they resort to killing just to make a point. A symptom of something more deeply rooted and it is manifesting in all cross sections of society. An irrational act in a desperate attempt to feel some control in an out of control world perhaps. Which brings me full circle to what I have said is the most important thing for us all to do, and that is to look deep within our hearts individually to see if we are in some way failing to do something that would make a difference and once seeing, change our path and make a difference. We must take individual and collective responsibility for the ills in society after all is said and done. It may have been well said by someone who was affected personally by tragic loss at Columbine High School.I will let him say it in his own words. His name is Darrell Scott, father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript: "Since the dawn of creation there has been both good and evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother, Abel, out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart." "In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at such groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA-because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent. I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy, it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves.I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today." Your laws ignore our deepest needs, Your words are empty air. You've stripped away our heritage, You've outlawed simple prayer. Now gunshots fill our classrooms, And precious children die. You seek for answers everywhere, And ask the question "why ?". You regulate restrictive laws, Through legislative creed. And yet you fail to understand, That God is what we need! "Men and Women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknoweledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and reek havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries.This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in doing so, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine occurs--Politicians immediatley look for a scape-goat such as the NRA. They immediatley seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes-He did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School, prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millenium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA- I give you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! You think giving him more money is politically expedient, but it is a moral abomination and every second the occupation of Iraq endures, you all have more blood on your hands.Ms. Pelosi, Speaker of the House, said after George signed the new weak as a newborn baby funding authorization bill: "Now, I think the president's policy will begin to unravel." Begin to unravel? How many more of our children will have to be killed and how much more of Iraq will have to be demolished before you all think enough unraveling has occurred? How many more crimes will BushCo be allowed to commit while their poll numbers are crumbling before you all gain the political "courage" to hold them accountable. Memorial Day holds double pain for me because, not only are we supposed to honor our fallen troops, but Casey was born on Memorial Day in 1979. It used to be a day of celebration for us and now it is a day of despair. Our needlessly killed soldiers of this war and the past conflict in Vietnam have all left an unnecessary trail of sorrow and deep holes of absence that will never be filled.So, Democratic Congress, with the current daily death toll of 3.72 troops per day, you have condemned 473 more to these early graves. 473 more lives wasted for your political greed: Thousands of broken hearts because of your cowardice and avarice. How can you even go to sleep at night or look at yourselves in a mirror? How do you put behind you the screaming mothers on both sides of the conflict? How does the agony you have created escape you? It will never escape me. I can't run far enough or hide well enough to get away from it.By the end of September, we will be about 80 troops short of another bloody milestone: 4000, and MoveOn.org will hold nationwide candlelight vigils and you all will be busy passing legislation that will snuff the lights out of thousands more human beings.
