I am here for Friends

About Me

I am SOOOOOOO happy to say, I am a graduate nurse, BSN! I was a teacher for ten years, (Biology, Math, 1st grade, and Dyslexia Therapy) and I loved it. But, I decided to go back to school for nursing, and ........ I graduated 4/18/08!I will be working in ICU in about a month, and I am looking forward to it. But, I am really looking forward to a much, much needed break, being home with my family, dogs, and .... Maui!
My first BS degree was actually (Marine Biology and Education), from Palm Beach Atlantic, Florida. Then, I took off for Lake Tahoe - to work at Heavenly Ski Resort for a couple of winters- it was truly~Incredible! In the summer I moved to Alaska's Denali National Park. I worked there as well as camped, hiked, explored and had fun. I love the memories created there.~ I hope to return for some vacations.
Shortly after, I met Tommy and we were married in 1998. He has two children that I now consider my own. We decided not to have biological children. But, my doggies are my babies!
I love (and hate) to run. I have ran a couple marathons, 25K's and half marathons. I love the feeling of accomplishment, but after the long year at UTMB, I have a lot of training to do to get me in shape for another.
This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!

My Interests

I love to Ski, Scuba Dive, Run - especially in preparation for Marathons and half-marathons, go out on our boat and play with my dogs.

I'd like to meet:

Too many to list. Those who made history, those who are making history and those who will make history- with admirable qualities, invention or actions.

Music:

80's, upbeat music, and contemporary country- Toby Kieth, Trace Adkins, Sara Evans, Gretchen Wilson, Reba, Martina McBride, JoDee Messina, the list continues!

Movies:

I love the classics, comedy, 'chick-flicks,'--really I like most movies. But I hate horror movies- I feel them too intensely ---nightmares.

Television:

I love the Discovery Channel, the Health Channel and the History Channel. I like That 70's show, King of Queens, Everyone loves Raymond, re-runs of Friends, etc. I am easy to please. But, I really do not watch much television.

Books:

I love classics such as Jane Eyre, I also enjoy books by Nicholas Sparks and Ken Follett. Additionally, I like to read inspirational books and educational books. BUT, I am soooo tired of reading from nursing school, it is going to take a while before I can "rekindle" the desire to open a book!

Heroes:

My husband and son- they are amazing. They have been through a lot and they still . . . smile and bring me joy.
In a broader sense, Jesus Christ, Abraham Lincoln, and most of the founding fathers of America.
Also, and certainly not least our past, present and future military. Those who serve to protect the vision of our forefathers- freedom.
