My Interests

I'm a big fan of dichotomy, especially the paralells of light and dark and the supercosmic glue that holds them together. i enjoy the outdoors, especially road biking and rock climbing, and running to flesh it out a little. Video games are a big source of time wasted. Anything organic or non-organic facinates me to no end. I also have a perchance to the rediculous, stupid, mundane, zany, casual, and occasionaly creepy. I have a job, which is to be rad at all times. I think you'll find I fit the bill.

Music:

Like everyone else, i like everything. To be more specific though, hip hop rules my day. People Under the Stairs, Pigeon John, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Jurassic 5, Tribe Called Quest, Binary Star, Blackalicious, Diamond D, Black Star, Dre, Snoop, NWA...mostly stuff from the 90's. Trip hop too, like Zero 7, Thievery Corporation, DJ Shadow, Mark Farina, the Avalanches, stuff like that. All sorts of music interests me, i just find myself returning to hip hop more and more. I need stuff like Ben Folds Five, Sublime, Harvey Danger or Cake for a sing-a-long though.

Movies:

Movies is such a daunting catagory, seeing as i'm a child of the media age. I'll watch anything and probably find something redeeming about it, even if it is the worst movie ever made. But some of the highlights i can pull off the top of my head are anything by Wes Anderson, or P.T. Anderson, or Spike Jonze, Lost in Translation, Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, I Heart Huckabees, Freddie Got Fingered, Napolean Dynamite, Point Break, The Sandlot, Dumb and Dumber....movies are awesome.

Television:

I pretty much boycott TV for video games, but i'm willing to watch them on DVD, except the Simpsons...Simpsons forever. Family Guy, Arrested Development, Firefly, Deadwood, Lost, Sopranos, Cowboy Bebop. I haven't watched TV in years really, and have only begun catching up on it. Oh, and reality TV is all the same. It really didn't get any better than Joe Millionaire.

Books:

Reading is Fun! I love anything by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Joseph Heller, or Herman Hesse. Some really good ones i've read lately would be A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by David Eggert, Middlesex by Jeremy Eugindes, the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon. I like action books like Dan Brown or Harry Potter, and have recently been getting back into Clive Cussler jaunts. I always have a book on me, because you never know when you're going to get stuck with nothing to do.

Heroes:

My Dad. For all the crap he's put up with me and my family, and still pushed me to succeed, anyone else is dwarfed in comparison.
