Like a shinning star in the darkest of night, emerges Shauna Dazzle, reggae's best kept secret. Born Shauna La Touche to Jamaican parents in Brooklyn, NY, Shauna "Dazzle" Dixon began her interest in music at the age of five. While other children her age were learning their ABC's, young Shauna was already learning how to play the piano and sing like her favorite singer, her Dad. At the age of 12 Shauna's family relocated to South Florida bringing her that much closer to her Jamaican heritage. Nurtured by the sweet riddims of the Caribbean, Shauna's talents began to grow and develop as did her love for writing, composing, and classical piano.
After graduating at the top of her High School class, Shauna made her way back to NYC where she studied French Literature and Romance Philology (Language) at the prestigious Columbia University. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree at Columbia, Shauna headed back to South Florida to attend Law School at the University of Miami.
Deeply submerged in the world of academia, Shauna had nearly lost her desire for music until one day, "I walked past an open classroom and from the corner of my eye I noticed there was a huge pile of tangled cables behind a mixing board, which reminded me of when I was a little girl watching my big brother string up the sound system he worked with," says Shauna. She quickly regained her passion and with a friend recorded a track at a local record store. Impressed by their creation, her friend then took Shauna to Heavy Beat Studio, where she met Reggae Music Icon Willie Lindo. Mr. Lindo was so mesmerized by her voice that he immediately produced her first single "Live in Harmony" which was distributed throughout Europe by Jet Star. Shauna began to spend as much time in the recording studio as she did in the law library so by the time she graduated Law School it was clear that her interest lied in music and not law. Shauna’s mother, her most avid supporter managed to set-up an introduction with world renowned producer, musician, and composer Dr. Paul.Dr. Paul recognized her incredible singing voice and ear for music and quickly recruited her into the ranks of Dr. Paul Productions as a Song writer and Engineer. Since then Shauna has produced, written and recorded songs for artists such as Glen Washington, Frankie Paul, Pinnacle, Singing Melody, Ritchie Stephens and Sanchez. Shauna is also a live sound engineer for Clymax Audio Works in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she has engineered many major events and concerts.Currently, Shauna Dazzle has just finished up her new EP "Show You Love" on Magwa Youth Records label, featuring three hot new songs written and produced by Dr. Paul, Shauna Dazzle and Multi-Platinum Hip Hop Producer, Sahpreem King. Shauna Dazzle's goal is to become a globally recognized singer, writer, and engineer, and serve as a role model for young Caribbean women in the music industry. With an amazing track record and an “I-can-do-anything-better-than-a-man†attitude Shauna has certainly proven that in an industry dominated by men that she is equally as proficient behind the boards as she is behind the mic. The secret's out….
