People I already know, artists, people who also like to discover new artists, collaborators, troublemakers, do-gooders, people not in the U.S
DavidJR.com does a lot of the meeting of people for me:I'd like to meet people who resonate with the video below . . .Check out Dana Varon's debut music video!!! (which I helped make)
It was a contender in the YouTube Underground Music Video competition and did really well!!
..
click here for another music video I like that happens to be by a fellow Minnesotan . . (feels very genuine North Woods too!)
My favorite musician is Dana Varon . I also like to discover new artists. I am seemingly on a perpetual search to hear everything on the planet. I'm more likely to buy a cd from a musician on the subway platform than at Virgin. Usually like singer/songwriters - crooners/standards - classic and modern rock - world - jazz - and truly risk taking / original artists best. But I'll listen to anything once. When I listen to radio - I use the tuning button always (no scan or presets) in hopes of coming across something unknown and exciting to me!
born into Spielberg (E.T. to Empire of the Sun) - evolved into Terry Gilliam (Brazil), Tim Burton(Beetlejuice), Coen Brothers (Barton Fink), Peter Weier (Fearless), Lawrence Kasdan (Grand Canyon), Robert Altman (Shortcuts), Jeane-Pierre Jeunet (Delicatessen). And of course all the wonderfully personal and small films I see on the festival circuit and while programming the Gen Art fest. Search for FOUR EYED MONSTERS on myspace!
Don't watch much but since the advent of the DVR I am catching up. Arrested Developement, Entourage, The Daily Show, Stella and Animal Cops - also anything on Discovery, History and PBS.Lately I have been waching Veronica Mars too - the writing and acting is really good/smart and there's great music supervision!
