Ravens Place brings together the talents of four Charlottesville, Virginia, musicians: lead singer and guitarist Will Nealy, guitarist Chris Gallagher, bassist Jeff White, and drummer Will Muncaster. The group mixes together grinding guitar riffs with melodic vocals to create their own brand of rock, which draws influence from both classic rock and modern rock groups.
Will Nealy and Jeff White began playing together in late 2003. They then joined up with Will Muncaster to create the group Straight Shot. Jeremy Long joined them soon after on guitar. In November 2004, Chris Gallagher approached the members about playing together when he got a gig at The Nation in Washington D.C. and needed a band to play with him. The band began as a side project to Straight Shot but after the first 2 practices it was decided that this was it for everyone. After experimenting with different names, Ravens Place was born.Ravens Place spent the year of 2005 playing battle of the bands and opening up for locals around the state. They won the Richmond Ice Zone Battle of the Bands and their own high school battle when they were just juniors. The band fought hard to get beyond the label of a “high school band.†They were able to gain the respect of local musicians and club owners and, by the end of their first year together, were headlining shows in the area.
In the spring of 2006, just days after graduation, Ravens Place released its first full-length, self-produced cd entitled “B.B.T.†The band’s first single, “Low,†was Track of the Day on Garageband.com as well as getting play on local stations in Charlottesville and Richmond VA.Since the bands conception in 2005 Ravens Place has played all over the region including such notable venues as The Trocedero Theatre in Philidelphia, Phoenix Hill Tavern in Louisville, Longwood University, The Nation and the Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington D.C., and Starr Hill Music Hall in the bands hometown of Charlottesville VAIn May of 2007 the band decided to part ways with guitarist Jeremy Long. Instead of searching for a new guitarist the band handed over guitar duties to lead singer Will Nealy.Ravens Place is currently getting ready to enter the studio with producer Andy Waldeck (Bella Morte, Earth To Andy, Egypt) to record a new cd.
