All Q.F.X tracks are written and produced by Kirk Turnbull the founder member of QFX who works from his own studio in the Scottish Borders and Orlando USA.
Q.F.X had most of their hits on their own independant label (Epidemic Records) which is a great achievment and earned them a lot of respect in the music industry.
Q.F.X have to date released 5 albums and 11 singles.
On the 12th of Dec '94 Q.F.X released their first album “Freedom†on their own label Epidemic Records, and it went straight into the UK independent chart at no 5 as the official highest new entry, and stayed in the top 20 for 14 weeks and is still highly in demand.
In June '95 they released the title single “Freedom†which charted in the UK main top 75 at no 41 and became a massive club anthem world wide.
The 1st single hit on their label.
Jan 22nd '96 Q.F.X released their re-mix of the Moby track ‘Every time you touch me†which shot straight into the main national chart at no 22 giving QFX their first top 40 hit and made their debut appearance on top of the pops from which they received a massive response from viewers.
The single stayed in the top 40 for 3 weeks at no 22, 24, 38, and no 1 in Scotland. Giving them a 2nd single hit on their label.
July 22nd '96 they released “You got the power†giving them their 2nd top 40 hit at 33.
Still massive in the clubs. Their 3rd hit on their label.
Jan 6th '97 by popular demand, Q.F.X released their massive club anthem ‘Freedom 2†the re-mixed version of their original track which became their 4th top 40 hit. Charting at no 21 and staying in the chart for 3 weeks, and no 1 in Scotland. Their 4th label hit.
Feb 24th '97 came the release of the 2nd Q.F.X Album “ Alien Child†featuring 20 massive dance tracks including 3 top 40 hit singles ‘Every time you touch me†You got the power†and Freedom 2â€. This album made the National 75 at 61.
‘Freed from desireâ€, by Gala was released featuring QFX mixes in the UK on July 7th '97 going straight into the the National chart at no 4. moving up to no 2. and staying in top 40 for 14 weeks. At 6000,00 sales Kirk received a gold disc.
April '98 Zomba Records released the QFX re-mixes of the massive club anthem by Nakatomi “Children of the night†and were very pleased with the results. This Single become another UK top 40 for Kirk.
Feb 2nd '98 QFX released the “Voyage album†featuring 10 continuous tracks all instrumental on limited UK release. This was a concept album, but well worth the effort.
March 8th '99 came the release of the bands 5th top 40 single ‘Say you’ll be mine†taken from the future album “High on life†the single entered the top 40 at no 34.
On the week of release it was no 17 in the box chart, and went on to be a hit in Japan.
July 14th '99 was the release date for the ‘High on life album†in the UK. This album is still widely available. The album and 4 singles taken from it have been massive sellers in Japan after being licensed by Toshiba EMI there.
26th Nov 2001 came the 1st release of the 5th QFX album ‘Freedom 2002’. But due to unforeseen distribution problems it didn’t make it into many shops. This album is now due for full release. Featuring 19 stomping strong tracks and an amazing QFX re-mix of Tiny tots “disco landâ€. Brand new tracks include the new stomper “Tears of an Angelâ€, which is now looking to be a future single.
Tear's of an Angel become a massive undergound anthem in liverpool.
Feb 2002 QFX score yet another top 40 hit with the re-relaese of Children of the night hiting the uk top 40 again.
2003 see's kirk highly in demand as a top uk remier working alongside top Uk DJ stevie maher, workin closly with MOS and Clubland records and mixing for some of the dance sences top dance acts.
Jan 2003 “Freedom†Was remixed and re-released by Ministry of sound Data Records and went on to be a top uk top forty at 31 in the uk charts and a scottish top 3.
It went on to be lisenced round the world and also appeared on 2 of the Minstry of sound compulations.
2004 see's QFX still giging and touring but only 6 months of the year as kirk now spending 6 mounths in Orlando USA working on the set up of Epidemic Records USA and Co Producing TV shows in Orlando.
2005 kirk starts work on new QFX album and singles as well as working with the artists that he has with epidemic but also still touring in the UK and Europe for 6 mounths of the year.
2006 Kirk still busy with new Artists here and the USA and the new QFX album.
QFX have now sold over 4million records world wide and still continue to move forward with the music and the gig's. It has been 14 years and over 2000 live shows and we are still going strong and looking forward to the future. We are in the process of setting up www.QFX.Biz and also www.Epidemicrecordsuk/usa and will continue to look for and help nature new Talent here and The USA.
