Influences: Man, there are so many. Just like most other learning musicians, I am trying to discover my own voice. My very first influence was my high school band director Mr. Ron Carter. He introduced me to Sonny Stitt, John Coltrane, Stanley Turrentine, and Dextor Gordon. Here lately I am listening to a lot of Kirk Whalum, King Curtis, Eddie Harris, and am trying really hard to acheive the fluidity and soulfulness of Johnny Griffin. He is definately one Tuff Tenor! More personally I have been influenced by my man Joe Davis(the most soulful saxophone player I know), Rock Williams, Jeffry Scott Wills, Bart Walker(the most soulful goodtar player I know), and the B.B. King House Rockers. The band has a lot of chemistry. Honorable mentions to the pope of funk Mr. Waldo Weathers!
