SMOKEHDZ was started in the year 2003,by a group of friends,most of them living in the small village De Pinte,near the city of Ghent;they were all into the same kind of music,some of them were already dj'ing,so what started out as a joke,soon became a more or less known crew,that shared the same mentality. In 2005 Z-Nox joined their forces.Smokehdz now consists of 4 dj's, 1 mc (Guan, Madlock, Z-Nox, P-Rinse and Mc Rx) and lots of support headz. 2005 was also the year of the first homebased parties:the infamous impulsive sessions.the concept of impulsive sessions is to throw a free party,to give established but also upcoming talent a chance (dj's as d-convict,goodfella,vanman,kobayashi & the payback kru rinsed our decks) & the main focus is that everybody has a good time.Our fifth edition has been delayed...watch this space for more info soon...MADLOCK got infected by the dnb virus by hearing goldie's inner city life,in the year 2000 that was,before that,he was into other electronic-influenced music, but also hiphop.when he heard 'inner city life',it struck him like a lightening. As Madlock went to his first dnb party, he realised the atmosphere was so different from other parties, the people were more friendly and openminded,there was a crowd interaction, & everybody was brocking out to every tune. So after years of partying, He decided to start dj-ing. He bought his first decks in 2003,which were soon replaced by his one & only true loves 'The sl 1200' More and more he became hooked on the deep & melodic influenced dnb...in his sets you will hear old & new tunes be the likes of tactile,calibre,d bridge & many more.gigs & bookings brought him to play on several parties,big & small,all over the country.
since 2006,his crewmember z-nox has been his permanent dj-partner in crime,besides rocking the decks solo...Since a few months,madlock has started to make his own beats.production is still in the beginning stage,but feedback on his work reveals potential & progress is being made with every tune he writes...catch my on .. mistermadlock
