About Me

I'm in love with the piano, but, hey, I like other instruments, too. I compose film music, classical pieces, and songs that sound like all of my influences (read them all aloud, it's fun). I've made a living as a guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, singer, music director, composer, and arranger. I also like attempting to play the flute, saxophone, banjo, and whatever else looks like fun. I succeeded in obtaining a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1992, with a minor in Composition. I went to school to study composition with the vague aspiration of becoming a film composer; I did score some student films at UNCG, but haven't yet followed the advice of my composition teacher: "move to Los Angeles." I began to study film in school, and haven't stopped yet. I've been writing songs since I was able to speak, and have studied form and composition for as long as I can remember. I've composed pieces for choirs and ensembles, and won a few awards in that kind of thing. I've also edited a literary magazine, won some poetry awards, and created lots of graphic art. But enough about me. Here's the fish-slapping dance. _____________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________
