Failure is just a dress rehearsal for success!!

About Me

found this music layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com :: MyHotComments Hello!! My name is Margaret M. Spirito. I'm an actor/singer/dancer from New Jersey who within the last 4 years started turning my poetry into music and realized i needed to take a stab at the music industry. A singer first by nature, my voice always got people to notice me and the way i used it always got them to stick around and listen. A proud alto, i recorded a demo back in 2004 entitled "Mele", my music altar ego. Using a mix of r&b, funk, & rock, i created 7 original pieces, writing all the lyrics and melodies & covered the Moody Blues's "NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN" in my own unique way. I"ve recently finished writing four new pieces, which have completed a 2nd demo I've entitled "The Road Blues". Two of the songs, "NOT WHAT I PLANNED" and "THE SAN FRAN BLUES" were recently recorded "unplugged" and are currently playing on this page. The style of my new music is more "me"; bluesy, soulful pieces, w/a hint of rock in the vocals. I have another song, STRONG WOMAN, that was co-written by Karen Dryer, however our busy schedules have not allowed us to lay it down in the studio....I can't wait till we can! In the last four years, I've had the pleasure of opening up for comedians Tk Kirkland & Talent, which lead me to be the opening act for several of KISS FM's Comedy Hour Shows in NYC. I recently had the exciting experience of performing "I"M GOING DOWN" (most well known as performed by Mary J. Blige) in AMETEUR NITE AT THE APOLLO in May of 2006 and did not get booed off!! I was chosen to be a standby performer for the tv show SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO and hope when time allows i will be able to do so. I just finished traveling the continent playing opposite Corey Glover (lead singer of the Grammy winning rock band LIVING COLOUR) and Ted Neeley as one of the soul girls in the national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. I'm currently in rehearsals for several different shows that are to be performed on the cruise ship the Norwegian Jade, set to travel the Mediterranean starting in March. I will be seen as "Yellow Girl" in the mod musical SHOUT and will be understudying the role of Patti in SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE and "Woman 1" in the off-broadway Kander and Ebb review AND THE WORLD GOES ROUND. Unfortunately, my free time right now is limited, so I don't think there's gonna be new songs added to this page anytime soon. I love writing and performing and hope God allows me to do it as long as I am here on this earth. I believe music has no color and does not judge, therefore we should all allow a little of it in our lives!!
