About Me

Me? I'm more interested in you. Tell me about you. Are you an astronaut or maybe a banker? Do you like to swim? How do you feel about pancakes? Public Enemy or Johann Sebastian Bach? If you were one word what would it be? How about a phrase? What is your favorite place outside? What is the hardest thing you've ever experienced? What can you say from your life so far you've learned gives it its meaning? How much of life in the western world would you say is a game we play to get or prove something? Is there more to all this than the story we've been handed down from our dominant culture? Is seeking truth an individual or even communal responsibility or is it largely by a process of chance we find it? Or does it maybe seek us to a certain degree and if we listen we might here it calling?

Right now, all you need to know about me is that I wanna know. So lets converse and see what we might find out about each other :-)

My Interests

I read a lot. Non fiction mostly. I seek to develop spiritually, professionally, physically, really just holisticly. I'm kind of sick of money and am realizing that I'm sick of living to work instead of working to live. I've lived through relative poverty and relative prosperity and I think I'm finally figuring out that knowing and being known in love are all that I need for joy and contentment.

I do enjoy playing electric guitar when I have a spare moment and watching a good movie even, but mostly I desire to live a life with a legacy of love, justice, hope, faith, and connection. Many around me have come far, as have I, and we all have far to go. I think I'm learning how to live in that.

I'd like to meet:

Passionate people who look beyond themselves and aren't afraid of discovering reality.

Music:

here's some: Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Roots (The Tipping Point is incredible!), P.O.D., Project 86, Shane Barnard, Doxology (local guys that are so amazing), Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Eat World, 12 Stones, Mars Ill, John Reuben, Rage Against the Machine, Strange Occurrence, Creed, Glimpse, As I Am (though not currently together), Kenney Wayne Sheppherd Band, Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Copeland, Verdi, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky (this guy was A-mazing), Vivaldi, Eric Clapton, Shimmer (local guys that are really growing on me), Tim Mcgraw, The X-ecutioners, Brian Setzer/ The Stray Cats, The Who (growing on me), The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Van Halen, Metalica, Nirvana, Collective Soul, Mr. Lif, Can-U, B.T., The Crystal Method, Enter the Worship Circle, my best friend Nate, my good friend Josh, Derek Webb, Coheed and Combria, Incubus, The Joshua Cane Band, Medeski Martin and Wood, and Eleven Eyes . I pretty much like anything that is musically inspiring or an honest, heartfelt expression of somebody's soul (especially toward our Creator).

Movies:

The Matrix Trilogy, Braveheart, The Last Samurai, To End All Wars, Ocean's Eleven and Twelve, Like Father Like Son (a dumb movie from the 80's with Kirk Cameron. I think I mostly like it because I quote some obscure line from it all the time), Ace Ventura, Enter the Dragon, The Passion of the Christ (not sure that I can watch it again though), Crash, Pearl Harbor, Amazing Grace, Lady in the Water, Garden State, The Pursuit of Happyness, End of the Spear, Peaceful Warrior, Rize, and Weekend @ Bernie's (One. Two sucked).

Television:

I don't watch t.v.Click here to check out and support Beautiful Angle, the makers of this guerilla art above.

Books:

I really like books, but I'm sort of not in the mood to write 'em all out. I love talking about books though! So feel free to engage me in dialogue about any you've read or want to read!

Heroes:

Jesus, My mentor Paul, Paul the Apostle, Michael Frost, Alan Hirsh, Mark Driscoll, Rob Bell, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mohandas Ghandi, Mother Theresa, William Wilberforce, Spider Man (one word?), and this guy:
