About Me

The whole idea about Macro is to create sort of a boutique label, with an extreme focus on artistic quality: showcasing highly individual musical expression in any direction as long as it feels right rather than being label no.3192 going for the minimal, neo-deep or whatever pigeonhole. So, Macro will host very few releases a year, carefully designed and packaged, opting for uniqueness rather than uniformity, tools or generic models of dance music. Truly a statement against all the hastily produced laptop boredom that molests clubbers and listeners these days.
Our label debut is Stefan Goldmann's Aurora / Beluga double whammy, which showcases pretty much the principles of Macro: future forward techno beyond minimal, house beyond deep - Aurora drifting into a beatless freeform jam at the end, while Beluga builds into it's bleepy groove through an ultra-reduced offbeat/one step beat at the start. Groove Mag Chart 4 this month, right away! Seems the concept is right.
Now after this went down smooth, we bring you a blast in a quite different direction by the same man: Stefan Goldmann delivers Macro 2 with the vocal frenzy of Lunatic Fringe and probably the most memorable melody of 2007: The Bribe. Villalobos, Hawtin, Steve Bug, Kruder, Ivan Smagghe, Jerome Sydenham, Ame - everybody's on it. Yeah.
