Insole are a humble folk band formed in Birmingham in the late 17th century with the founding forefathers being Scottie 'Bongo' Sellman and David (Ezekiel) Ghoris. They reformed briefly in the late 1990's only to be confronted with the barrier of lacking musical talent...... so hence forth split up again. Insole re-reformed in November 2007 when they had actually learnt to play guitar, and write songs in the key of C major. Although many have commented on their lack of 'tightness' they have continued to mesmorise and break into the north London folk scene, with their main groupies being bearded 20 somethings who also have a fondness of Warhammer and reruns of Battleship Galactica. 'The Drill' joined the band in early 2008 to give the band some much needed impetus as up until then they did not have much of a female following, which is main reason why the band were formed in the first place. Since the arrival of 'The Drill' Insole have been making audiences wet with their humble acoustics and original sound. Insole would like to think of themselves as the ones putting the sole back into folk music...........only time will tell, only God can judge them as they are all fiercely religious heathens. Ja Bless!
PS. They also host a folk night at the BOOGALOO called 'HUMBLE ACOUSTICS', on myspace as 'humbleacoutics', and they believe shameful promotion is something to be proud of. Thats a folk night, the last Monday of every month, at the BOOGALOO called 'HUMBLE ACOUSTICS', just follow the link below of the same name, that being 'HUMBLE ACOUSTICS', which is the night Insole host, the last monday of every month at the BOOGALOO, check out below because the good times they are a'rollin'...
