I am VERY happily married to my childhood best friend and sweetheart who I adore!!! We have 2 wonderful boys who are brilliant and growing by leaps and bounds! We are blessed with a great life. Sometimes I wonder how I have been so lucky to have been this blessed. I wonder what it was I did to deserve this awesome family and great friends. There have been moments of heartache and sadness with the loss of those close to us in 2006, but I have no doubt there is a plan in it all. I know having faith has helped me to get passed some of the harder moments in life. I believe we are here to learn from all the experiences we face in life, the good, the bad and the difficult ones and all those experiences are what help in our spiritual growth. I try to step back and see the big picture and I do my best to stay positive even when the silver lining might be hard to see at times. I am a spiritually minded person, maybe even leaning more toward the metaphysical side and as far from bible thumper as you can get.
My boys are wonderful, very smart and handsome. My youngest who is now 11 suffers from Selective Mutism a childhood anxiety disorder that cause him to basically clam up when around new people and even friends. But on 7/7/7 (lucky 7's) He started talking out of the blue to one of his friends. Now he is talking to about 9 new people, friends and even some adults! I am hoping that This new yeat will bring even more progress!!! I am an animal lover! We include our pets as part of the family and we are blessed to have such wonderfully sweet pets that all live in perfect harmony under one roof… well, the horses we still keep outside, although one of my horses once wandered inside!I am an advocate of animal rights. I have adopted all my dogs and cats, and 2 of my 3 horses are rescues, the 3rd one, well I purchased her from polygamists, so I feel like she was rescued as well .My big hope in life is that horse slaughter is ended for good. It really is an atrocity that has to stop! Although laws have been changed so horse slaughter is outlawed in the US, it has not stopped kill buyers form purchasing horses at auctions and transporting them to Canada and Mexico. These sick and often pregnant horses are transported, stuffed in trucks and shipped to their death. Many mares go into premature labor, horses who are physically compromised are in agony as they try and stand on injured legs or are weak from age, sickness and /or starvation. Once to their destination, they are forced to often times run to the slaughter yards in their sad state. Killing a horse is no easy task as they are head shy and can not be quickly put down. I won’t go into the morbid detail here, but it’s really awful how they are killed. The regulations for horse meat is not the same for beef, so there is more cruelty in their handling. If you saw the state of these horses, and the way they are handled you would wonder why anyone would want to eat something that was suffering and in such poor shape in the first place! Not to mention that because horses are not meant for consumption, the shots they are given for their health, can be harmful to people consuming them as meat. They are given wormers, and sprayed with fly sprays and many care products for grooming or medicinal purposes that state right on the label the product is not to be used on animals meant for consumption! Horses are not food! I just could never cast off my horse like that. My horses will be with me until their dying day! I love them with all my heart!
Unhappy people: Have you ever met people who believe the world is out to get them? They think everyone hates or judges them, and they think they are the only ones crap ever happens too? It seems these people look at those who wear a smile as if they have never struggled, never felt loss or had any heartache. I think you have to decide if you are going to let those experiences define you or are you going to define your own life. I have lost several people I loved and I went thru a bad relationship and divorce when I was younger. I have made bad choices and suffered for them. I've had struggles and hardships, and even some scary health issues recently. But, I smile, and I laugh, and I enjoy this life I was blessed with, and I look at all the good that is in my life and I appreciate it all that much more. You can learn from the past, but living in it will only stunt your spiritual and emotional growth. Enjoy the life you were given and don't ignore the good that is within your reach!
