The idea for Toughskins came to life in the summer of '93 in Fontucky, CA.
The original line-up consisted of Kev "Ax Striker", MC "Hate Mongrel", and the one you love to hate "Danny Oi!".
These three young skinheads were fueled by a steady diet of booze, drugs, hatred and the Love of Oi! After running ads in local music shops, Dave Visive (aka Dave Sutorus) stepped up to complete the line-up. We had written all the songs for the LP and "Ax" left to Bumfuck Egypt to pursue working class security. So we forced the bong out of Adrian's hand and put the mic in it's place.
Within a matter of months, and a lot of fucken' work getting Adrian in shape, the Toughskins recorded "13 Shots To The Head" with Riverside's foremost rock producer/engineer Bob Moon.
These thirteen songs remained true to the Toughskins' "no song over 3 minutes" credo of keeping the music simple, powerful, and easy to sing along to when one is completely hammered. Shortly after the recording sessions Dave left and Jody was recruited.
Thanks to local Oi! heroes, The Authority, we got hooked up with Vulture Rock and "13 Shots..." was canned. Ten of those edited songs from that session were released as the now infamous and ultra-rare Toughskins "Raised in Anger" 45rpm 12" LP.
What a fucking ride! Although the Toughskins reign of terror was short lived, the memories (and scars, mostly on the liver) will never be forgotten.
