About Me
Born in St. Mary’s, Ohio, “Razz†was influenced and obsessed with music at an early age. By the time he turned fourteen, as a self-taught guitarist, he began playing in honky tonks, high school dances, private clubs and just about any other place that called for music.Along with becoming an accomplished vocalist, the years of experience of performing steadily, has molded him into a fine entertainer known for working the crowd up and keeping them there. Bottom line….it’s a party and everyone has a ball. After playing in several bands including Dartanyun, which yielded a small label 45 and opened for several national acts such as The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Blackfoot, Pure Prairie League, Molly Hatchet, McGuffey Lane, and The Outlaws, to name a few, he put another Ohio band together calling it Rasberry Jam. Producing a six song EP and doing shows with more national acts such as Gregg Allman Band, Marshall Tucker Band, George Thorougood, Johnny Winter, Mitch Ryder, and many more. Some of Ron’s best lessons and fondest memories were achieved back in the year of 1980, doing a west coast tour with the late Nashville Recording artist Vassar Clements. Having the opportunity to play alongside the finest natural fiddle player that ever walked as well as the other class A musicians was a privilege and an education to say the least. With all these years of performing, along with becoming an extremely competent songwriter, Ron likes to call on past influences, which range from Jimmy Buffet to Jimi Hendrix, besides doing his originals. Now doing a solo adventure that has become quite popular, he has spent the last four summers at Put In Bay, Ohio on South Bass Island in the Great Lake Erie playing at Mr. Ed’s Bar, right down town on Delaware Street. Sharing the island with the likes of Mike “Mad Dog†Adams, and Pat Daily along with all the other fine entertainers, Razz (as everyone calls him on ‘the rock‘) has made a name for himself on the island of fun, where the scenery is……..well…you know.
