LEON MOORE of Paper Chase Music

Leon was born in Melbourne, Australia on December 28th, 1983. He was born into a musical family. His parents are both leaders in their fields as music educators, his mother one of the leading Kindermusik teachers (a rhythm and movemnt class for children ages 0-5) and his father is the creator of the ground-breaking playing based piano method, Simply Music. As such, Leon was exposed to a broad array of musical styles and genres, and began listening to jazz, r&b and hip-hop at a young age. Leon, along with his family, emigrated to the United States in 1994, and he currently lives in Sacramento, California. For many years, Leon was immersed in a musical environment at home, his father tought lessons in the house as he was growing up which developed his ear greatly... On his 12th birthday, Leon was given the jazz album "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis and this immediately sparked a new passion and direction for Leon musically, and started playing the Trumpet at age 12. Leon was a member of the 3 time Sammie award winning Sacramento rock/soul/r&b/hiphop group, Bucho for about 8 years. Aside from performing on the trumpet for so many years, Leon began teaching the Simply Music Piano Method and has been doing so for over 3 years. Leon's musical focus had now made a bit of change in direction. After witnessing the growth and development of his brother Chase as not only a wordsmith, but as a producer, Leon has been inspired to channel his studies of music in producing beats with his brother Chase as part of the Paper Chase Music Production Team."Its a little tough at first to harness one simple idea, because i want to just keep going with it...but thats one of the beautiful challenges in hip hop, to me. Creating a simple line from all of the ideas going on in my head." But since "hip hop is created best out of simplicity" to Leon, it seems to be quite the perfect match.
