I am here for Friends

About Me

I live in Burton with my wife Heidi and my two sons. I work as a graphic designer for the local newspaper. I'm a Christian. We regularly attend Wildwind Community Church: www.wildwindchurch.com. We've found a great place to grow spiritually, and we've made life long friends. We spend a lot of time with family and friends. Our parents don't live too far away, and they love to see their grandsons. I have two younger brothers that I'm trying to be closer to. Get this FREE MySpace layout and more at MySpaceOrYours.net

My Interests

I love horror movies and comic books, so I'm a bit of a dork (I've made my peace with it). I study the Bible a lot. I read a lot.

I'd like to meet:

Rob Bell. Don Miller. Jim Wallis. George Romero. Bruce Campbell. Anne Lamotte.

Music:

First and foremost, I'm a metal head, but my taste in music is by no means limited to any one genre. My favorite band is Mudvayne. Johnny Cash is a hero of mine. Matisyahu rocks! I recently recieved the new Third Day album and an Andrea Bocelli CD as gifts. The way I look at it, why limit yourself to one kind of music. If it's good music, that's all that really matters.

Movies:

I'm a horror junky. It started when I was young with the Saturday Double Features. Vincent Price. Black and white Universal monsters. Zombies. Some of my favorites (not necessarily horror): Donnie Darko, Halloween, Walk the Line, T.C.M. (original), Passion of the Christ, I Am Sam, anything by Del Toro, anything by Cronenburg, anything by Romero, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I could go on and on

Television:

I love Heroes, My Name is Earl, and Aliens in America. Those are the only shows I try really hard to watch.

Books:

I discovered Rob Bell's Velvet Elvis is 2006 and read it three times over the course of a year. Highly Recommended! I've read most of the Stephen King library. The Dark Tower Series would make a great series of movies. Don Miller is a very down to earth Christian dude. Jack Ketchum is the only horror writer that has made me physically ill. He doesn't mess around. The Bible is a book that I don't think you can ever stop reading. I don't think you can ever take it all in. I'm constantly looking for new perspectives. It's a book that you have to read yourself.I recently finished the Harry Potter series. It was amazing.

Heroes:

My wife. My sons. My parents. My brothers. My in-laws. My friends (Tony, Carnie, Jason, Jasen, Wayne - all their wives). My pastors. Dr. Joe.Johnny Cash. Rob Bell. Don Miller. George Romero. Jack Ketchum. I'm repeating myself aren't I?Your results:

We’re Leaving the Gym

A few Sundays ago, as Dave was finishing up his sermon, I crept to the back of the gym. The music started up, and I watched as people started to join in. Some were dancing, some stood, others sat. As ...

The following is taken from a journal/scrapbook that I keep for my kid(s). It's a little rough because I didn't spend a lot of time on it, but I wanted to share the basics of my feelings on the subjec...

Elmo Pajamas and Smiling Hearts

Today is Martin Luther King day. As usual, it was met with the usual grumbling from those that had to work because there are those that didn't. I had to. It didn't bother me. If it bothers you, you've...

MY WORLD VIEW - even if you get offended at some point, theres hope in here
