This singer/songwriter was raised in a small town in beautiful upstate New York. At the early age of 3 she started singing in church. Grounded with the inspiration Shareen received singing with her family, she continued to perform throughout high school; benefit shows, retirement homes, hospitals, fairs and conventions. She began recording songs written by contemporary Christian songwriter Robert S. Wright and recorded numerous jingles for some of upstate New York’s top corporations and most popular stores. Soon she landed gigs doing lead and backup vocals with well-known, New York country bands.
In 2000, Shareen moved to Nashville for her chance to sing among the stars. She began singing right away at some of the top venues in Music City. It wasn’t long that she began recording material for some of Nashville’s greatest songwriters.
She has been requested to perform frequently as a guest singer at the Nashville Cowboy Church and of Pigeon Forge, TN, where she has shared the stage with JoAnne Cash Yates (younger sister of super-star Johnny Cash), Stella Parton, Ronnie Stoneman, George Hamilton IV, Paul Overstreet and Ricky Lynn Gregg.
At the 2005 Clarksville Riverfest, she was asked to perform her own hour show of all original material. That evening she shared the stage with Hal Ketchum, David Lee Murphy and Ty Herndon. One of the highlights of her career has been her European tour. While once working for a world famous pro-audio company and with the honor of being one of their artists, she performed with the band, New-West in Vienna, Austria.
Shareen’s influences are many. She has been inspired Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstadt, Martina McBride, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. However, she has a unique sound all her own, but don’t let that sultry and smooth tone fool you, underneath is a powerful sound that waits anxiously to come out.
Today, Shareen is still performing strong! She also sings backup for some of Nashville’s aspiring artists and bands and is a sought-after session vocalist. To quote her, “Music is the universal language and I believe that I can ‘speak’ to the world when I sing. It’s truly amazing. Lord willing I will do this for the rest of my life!â€
