Christoph Schellhorn

Guitarist - Singer - Songwriter

About Me

Christoph Schellhorn is a guitarist/singer/songwriter from Schwoich near Kufstein, Tirol/Austria. You can't call this youngster a real Bluesman but "everything written after 'but' probably is a lie"...
Born in 1983 he started playing guitar at the tender age of 12 and is still learning and being influenced by the many musicians he meets on the road.
His first picking-collaboration with Christoph Held (A) led into the release of their duo-album "Natural Born Pickers" in 2003, with great reviews.
Together with Thomas Nagele (A) he was on the road as "The Ambassadors" for many years. Their album of the same name was released in 2005 and has earned great reviews by Austrian and German music magazines.
He's the first-choice-sideman for the Austrian bluesman Konrad "bones" Windisch and currently playing guitar for "Mammut Horns & Bones".
Schellhorn's latest release "Left to Listen" is out now. Recorded solo, this album is as natural as it can be and recommended by leading magazines that consider Folk, Blues and Roots Music.
Chris has already played gigs with Kieran Halpin (IRL), Chris Jones (USA), Anth Kaley (GB), Peter Ratzenbeck (A), Jacques Stotzem (B), Hans Theessink (NL) and Biber Herrmann (D).
Besides his rare solo gigs he also works as a sideman and session musician, live and in the studio. Schellhorn uses a huge number of weird tunings, slide and metal fingerpicks on his acoustic guitar to create both groove and solo stuff.
"I'm really enjoying the music. Keep up the good work!" Kieran Halpin
"They're not only good, but NUTS as well!" Chris Jones
