I was born in 1967, and I live in Trondheim, Norway. In 2003 I released "Maus" on Bergland Productions, and tried to combine my love for various American root forms of music with Norwegian traditional music. My second offering, "Unu" from 2006, focused on totally solo acoustic guitar, and though I use several instruments throughout the record, there..s never more than one instrument per tune. In a typical live performance I bring three or four guitars and way too many stories and other verbal digressions - my music is more or less a mix of traditional Norwegian tunes, my own compositions that take in a somewhat wider range of influences, and some other cover tunes that I work on at any given time. I usually perform alone, but from time to time I have the great privilege of putting together band constellations from the amazing community of musicians in Trondheim.The video on top is a tune of mine from the "Unu" album called "Heling", and was filmed in a live performance with no audience by Espen Aarsvold at Dokkhuset, Trondheim. The next one is a traditional tune from Trøndelag in Norway called "Sprengar", and you will see the same guys as you hear on the track: Tor Haugerud (drums), Hayden Powell (cornet) and Daniel Herskedal (tuba). It..s also the first time I play my new bouzouki, made by Arnt Rian, in front of a camera.
