Joe Black is a musical energy that never runs empty, he always has his finger somewhere on the pulse. A dj,musician and producer in no particular order, this Los Angeles native is seemingly always working on numerous projects either performing or behind the boards at his RebelMovements Studio. Starting out in music at a very early age Joe first honed his musical skills in school marching bands and jams with musical cats in the neighbourhood. Heavily influenced by the west coast funk sounds, Joe learned a number of instruments and musical styles before he came into his own way of approaching music. Joe has played in numerous bands and performed all over the globe, on 4 continents. As a Dj Joe has entertained crowds in europe,america and australia playing clubs and festivals, he also held down radio slots on SBS and Bondi88fm. As a live performer Joe has opened for musical giants like Lee Scratch Perry,Third World, Ras Micheal, Shaggy, Mad Professor, Arrested Development, Lyrics Born, Jurassic 5, Jah Mason, Jungle Brothers, Norman Jay, Rae & Christian and Spearhead to name a few. As a producer he has worked with many artist in various genres from hiphop, soul, reggae to straight up pop. He has provided beats for Philly undergroung hiphop group II Mystic, NYC's Sam Dynamite and Qi Dynasty, Dangerous Minds out of australia then flipped the script to produce trax for Roni Jemmot from Sydney, Australia's The Resurrectors and the Versionaires. He has also dropped soundscapes for soulful Bianca Love providing her with two tracks for her upcoming debut and one yet unreleased track for Seychillian songstress Grace Barbe. Joe is currently selecting tracks for his JBLACK presents disc due for release in early 08, which is projects he produced and recorded over the last couple of years. As community based person Joe also conducts music workshops for young at risk youth teaching them djing, mcing and music production basics. He's travelled to remote indignious communities in outback australia, detention facillities and schools sharing his skill and knowledge with young and old....Joe appears in "Words of the City" a documentary on australian hiphop, this award nominated documentary is a look at the growing hiphop culture in australia. The movie features some of the countries best and finest hiphop artist............
