How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives

About Me

And I'm in a band working on the greatest album in Indianapolis history (and yes I'm joking and not that full of myself).
We're called Fake Sinatra , and unless you're a really good friend of mine, you've probably never heard of us because we're doing something musically unusual. We work on all of our material in the studio. Once we have our album's worth of material, then we'll come out!
Jasin Thomason and Pat Simms are the other two members (and yes, we're all X-members of Project Bottlecap), and we're always looking for "guest appearances" from other local musicians, to spice things up.
My beard is red, but I'm not a pirate. I guess that's the Irish in me. The Irish only came out in my beard. I don't have red hair anywhere else. That's kind of weird. (It's not turbo-red though...)
I really enjoy new experiences - new people - new places - new food - new music - pretty much new everything. Don't get me wrong, I like my "old favorites" and I can definitely get stuck in a rut, running in circles, but I really do like to experience the adventures life has to offer. So... bring 'em on.
I like to try different ethic foods. I'm adventurish when it comes to food. Although I've tried a lot, I think that Indian food is still probably my favorite (except for all the carbs!).
As far as I know, I'm not allergic to anything. I feel bad for people that have allergies. It must be such a weird experience, for your body to act as if something that is actually harmless is a pathogen. Lucky me I guess.
I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but I don't remember living there, because I moved to away when I was 1 to California where I was raised until I was 10. I've lived in the Seatle area and in Cincinnati, but for the most part in Indianapolis (and/or the surrounding area). I've traveled all over the states too. I've been to most of the states and most of the major cities in our country. Unfortunately, I've only left the country to go to Canada - but I've seen all of their major cities. Hoorah for Kanucks!
Unlike just about every one of my friends, I don't have any tatoos. I actually like some/most tatoos quite a bit, but I just don't have any myself. I have several reasons for this, but you'll have to ask to know more.
Secretly, I'm into philosophy. Don't tell anyone though - because it will either bore them to death or be over their heads... generally speaking.
I don't smoke and never have, but just because you do doesn't mean that I'm bothered by it. I'm not particularly fond of going out to a bar/club and finding my eyes drying out and my clothes reaking of cigarette stench, but hey... I do it a lot anyway. Smoke-on if it makes you happy (just don't delude yourself - it's slowly killing you!)
When I can, I go out - sometimes just to go out and be with friends, but I really like to go somewhere where music I like is playing - and that's usually live music (although I do have a techno side to me - but DJing is kind of live - right?) However, cheap beer sometimes gets me out (like they have at the Living Room Lounge on Mondays or at the Mine Shaft on Thursdays).

My Interests

Music, Recording Music, Playing Music.... and sometimes just listening to music

I also like people - human interaction - I like business, so if you have one or are thinking about starting one, talk to me about it - I'll be interested

I'd like to meet:

People who like music

People who play music (especially if they could potentially do a cameo appearance on my band's album)

People who don't suck and aren't totally crazy and aren't going to bring unneeded drama into my life

People who can accept the fact that I don't watch TV so I probably won't be able to have a huge conversation with them about their favorite television show

Anyone who is a genuine person

Anyone honest and real enough to know they're not perfect and neither am I

Music:

Lord... where to start:

Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes, Funkadelic, Richie Hawtin, Ray Lamontangue, Spoon, The Apparitions, Neko Case, America Owns The Moon, Pelican, You Will Die, Built To Spill, The Decemberists, Outkast, The Flamming Lips, Regina Spektor, Prince, old soul music, new soul music, They Might Be Giants, Blonde Redhead, Sade, Basement Jaxx, Beatles, Elliot Smith, Fiona Apple, Esthero, Bob Marley, Jeremy Enigk, John Lee Hooker, Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Nelly Furtado, Bad Religion (old stuff), Pink Floyd, Plastikman, The Cars, The Police, The Eurythmics, Portishead, Queen, Steely Dan, Audioslave, Talking Heads, David Byrne, Weezer (pinkerton mostly), Fake Sinatra, Electronic Music, and much more!!!

Movies:

If it's bizaar, artsy or a good (real good) sci-fi, I'm all about it! I also like documentaries that you rent - because these are often very interesting. Most "big hollywood productions" that are cookie-cutter flicks that use the same story line as every other movie bore me to death! I don't feel like mentioning specific movies... you'll just have to ask me later.

Television:

I don't watch it! If you talk to me about it, there's a 95% chance I won't know what the hell you're talking about, but you can try anyway. I miss out on a lot of news and often don't know about what new products are available because I don't watch TV. Other than that, I'm pretty glad that I don't. Most people think it's pretty weird that I don't watch TV and I am frequently asked "what do you do then" once someone finds out that I don't watch it. Hell... I don't know, I couldn't imagine finding the time to watch it honestly.

Books:

ehh... who needs 'em.... not a true statement at all - but I pretty much only read non-fiction of any sort these days

Heroes:

I don't idolize anyone, although Ayn Rand and Frank Wallace have put their fair share of influential contribution into this world, enough so that their names stick out in my mind right now. There's a lot of "heroic" stuff going on in your own "backyard"... so don't forget to look there!
