Blade started singing at the age of 8 in his familys church choir in Toledo, Ohio. At the age of 14 Blade started writing lyrics and poetry. He continued performing in the arts throughout Jr. high, and high school. Blade recalls being influenced early in life by Hip Hop music, the East Coast Sound, "they flip it different" he said. He speaks highly of groups like; Eric B. & Rakim, L.L.Cool J, Redman, Wu-Tang, Black Thought, Kool G. Rap, Al Green, Bob Marley, Ron Isley, and Run DMC. Blades creative influences are just as impressive; George Lucas, Stan Lee, Gene Rodenberry, Rod Serling, Steven King and Todd McFarlane. With such diverse inspiration, its no wonder that Blade is a master at weaving lyrics and poetry that croons with resonating topics. Blade has a 300-pound voice that will captivate and "cultivate your mind".
At the age of 18 Blade was well on his way writing lyrics, poetry and songs. He recorded his first session at the age of 18 in a local recording studio. Traveling back and forth from Boston and Toledo, for the next 10 years, Blade worked with a few local artists, producers, and studios. He completed 6 recording projects and 4 videos during this period of his life. Still not content Blade continued to search for that pinnacle in collaboration and sound. He knew he had to stay focused, and focus he did. Blade started to perform nightly in live shows, freestyle battles, and endless open mic nights. Blade at this point was starting to create a local buzz in the Toledo area. His fan base was expanding as well. Blades popularity was increasing rapidly throughout Northwestern Ohio. Blades engineer Apples said "This shit's GOT to blow up", Blade agreed. Later that week Blade laid out the plans about forming a production family of talent that could work together and be an asset to each other creatively as well as performing. He named the production family Bandits Nest and looked at it more like as an agency of talented spies and assassins of words and beats. Hence his agency number 22 as in B.B. the second letter of the English alphabet Blade agreed to join with his Friend, and accasional rhyming sparing partner, Joe S.M.P.T.E. together they decided to take the wheel and through efforts on both parts start putting Bandits Nest on the map. From that point on Blade and S.M.P.T.E. started working on his second album and on the Bandits Nest contract. The camp is now massing for the forming of O.B.C (Ohio Boston Connection) a hybrid group of Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus, Boston and france. Bandits Nest consists of, D.J. Eclectic, Joe S.M.p.T.E., Billy Blade, Sutter Cain, Big Mark the General (B.M.G.)and a host of others. When comprised and united, Bandits Nest and its individuals amalgamate in a staunched posture to exhibit Midwest and Eastern talent at its finest.PROJECTSPoets of the Underground,
