HOW IT ALL STARTED.....
Marc and Dawn have always been ice cream lovers. Whether it was a hot summer day or a cool autumn night, ice cream always seemed to be the one thing that brought happiness to the tastebuds. Through all of their ice cream eating, they explored every flavor imaginable from chocolate to vanilla and everything in between. It was through these experiences that they realized that they wanted something more flavorful and fun than the average ice cream shop had to offer. Marc remembered as a young child eating a special kind of ice cream that his Italian grandfather would make. Little did Marc know that he would eventually discover the secret family recipes for making this ice cream that is known as GELATO. It was at this time that Marc and Dawn found the recipes for GELATO hidden in a special trunk!! The trunk was brought over from Italy several generations ago by the Funaris. Once these recipes were discovered, Marc and Dawn began making small batches of GELATO for friends and family. The word spread, and people were demanding to get some of this wonderful frozen treat. And as they say the rest is history. At this time, Marc and Dawn realized they had to share this wonderful treat with the rest of the world, and as a result FUNARI’S ITALIAN CREAMERY was born. Funari’s simply offers the best frozen treats in a friendly atmosphere. One try of the GELATO and you will be hooked.
WHAT EXACTLY IS GELATO???
GELATO is simply Italian for ice cream. Because of the freshest ingredients, and the way it is made, FUNARI’S GELATO has an explosion of deliciousness and fun in every bite! GELATO contains less fat and less air than ice cream. In ice cream, the high fat content hides the overall flavor. The lower fat content in GELATO allows the truly intense flavors to be tasted in every lick.
