Nobody really cares about the birth pains of young UG metal acts, so to be concrete, the picture of These Broken Remains finally started to make sense in the spring of 2006, when this young metalcore quintet from Tallinn became the runner-up in a local band battle, earning the privilege to open one of Estonia’s most prestigious heavy music festivals, Hard Rock Laager. Their first demo, „We Will“, saw the dark of night the same summer. Apparently, the song won many hearts in the local scene and opened many venue doors. The debut EP „No Forever After“, released independently the next summer, established These Broken Remains as a promising, technical and energetic pack, capable of wreaking havoc on smaller as well as on bigger stages in Estonia or abroad (most noteworthy are Pigfarm Dance Massacre 2008, Fonofest 2008, Zvera Fest 2008, PDM 2009, Backflip to Nosebleed 2009)
Evolution can never be complete and so can no self-respecting band stop progressing. In the winter of 2008, These Broken Remains released „Shut Down the Sun“, a new benchmark for the band, distancing themselves from their metalcoreish roots pursuing a more mature, heavier and complexity driven sound. Now loaded with ambition and less satisfied than ever before, this lively bunch guarantees fresh blood one way or another.
