Cookie Butterlove (Keyboards and vocals) is, of course, the most recognizable name among Twin Cities keyboardists. An alumnus of the famous Berklee College of music, he is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist. He is also accomplished as a composer of big band and small group jazz, modern pop, funk and r&b, as well as an author of children’s literature and an entrepreneur. A nationally recognized saxophonist at the tender age of 17, Cookie has shared the stage with Clark Terry, Lionel Hampton, Herb Pomeroy, Warren Hill, Donny McCaslin, Danilo Perez, Laylah Hathaway, Darrell Diaz, Dave Delhomme, and countless other great musicians, crossing barriers of style and generation. As a keyboardist, he continues his quest against musical divisions, sharing stages over the years with Bo Diddley, Fergie Fredericksen (of Toto), Wayne McFarlane, Twin Cities favorites Soul Tight Committee, I.R.A.S., Prince Jabba, Malia Franklin, Shades of Color, Heavy Set, Papa Squat, Black Lite, Jah-B, Le Groove Thang, R7, Aisha’s Wild, Fatt Soul City, Tribute to Motown, High and Mighty, Love Train, and Soul Power.
