About Me

i make zines, distro zines, read a lot, drink pretty much nothing except beer & coffee, & offer my curmudgeonly opinion when it seems appropriate (& sometimes when it is not). i am missing three vertebrae & wear the same jeans almost everyday, even though they're falling apart. i don't know how to drive, but i do know how to make good mix tapes. i am obsessed with logic puzzles.
oh yeah. & i'm an anarchist. i do what i want.

My Interests

karaoke, logic puzzles, good zines, zine-making implements, cats (especially the ones that are really grouchy and/or have too many toes), bacon waffles, graveyards, euphemisms, grammar, sea monsters, monsters in general, maps, anarchism, feminism, scavenger hunts

I'd like to meet:

karaoke maestros. book recommendations. all my friends that live far away. someone who can appreciate the role of cream of mushroom soup in a good midwestern casserole & won't get all food politics up in my grill.

Music:

whatever sounds good on a mix tape or being belted out at karaoke or when my friends sing at sunset in the gazebo at jamaica pond.

Movies:

dirty dancing, purple rain, wayne's world. you know, the classics.

Books:

the pippi longstocking books, the black album (hanif kureishi), all over creation & my year of meats (ruth ozeki), indian killer (sherman alexie), accordion crimes (e. annie proulx), the namesake (jhumpra lahiri), anna karenin (leo tolstoy), the bloody chamber (angela carter), in the time of the butterflies (julia alvarez), geek love (katherine dunn)...and that's just fiction. for non-fiction, i liked possessed: the rise and fall of prince, the abortionist (rickie solinger), outlaw woman: a memoir of the war years (roxanne dunbar-ortiz), and really, a lot of other books. hit me up for recommendations or come over and borrow some stuff.
