Makin' you regret meeting me, reading a bunch, writing a book, strawberry-lime jones soda, gettin drunk and playing hank williams songs so nasty the distortion makes snow on my neighbors' tv screens, gettin sweaty and dancin doity to loud ass music-don't matter what kind. I'm finally settled into my house here in houston, so photography'll hopefully start taking up much of my time pretty soon, or at least what's left after school and work and whoever. As for goody-goody stuff, I'm volunteering to be a Big Brother (it sounds like fun, plus I used to volunteer at an animal shelter before i moved to houston, and when i left i didn't have my nice/fun thing to do anymore). oh, lastly, if anyone knows somebody, i'm in the market for a pair of size twelve tan alligator shoes to match my guitar case so i can go ahead and commence with the hard pimpin' next time i go out.
Career drinkers. And anyone in Denton who wants to pay me for guitar lessons.
All kinds of music, so I've got eclectic tastes, which is cool; and especially a bunch of shit that used to be cool and then it was lame and then it was so lame it was cool and then since it was cool again it was lame and now it's cool not to care what's cool or lame so even though you think it's lame it's actually cool, unless everyone already knows about it, and then it just sucks-but you didn't know that cause you're not cool. So here's my list, which is probably exactly the fucking same as everyone else's list on here: I like GnR and ac/dc and bluegrass and techno and new wave but just the catchy stuff, punk and good hip hop, lots of rock n roll, and the two worst bands in the history of music are creed and kiss, tied with just a slight lead over anything patty smyth ever did. I like johnny cash, detroit cobras, apples in stereo, toxic narcotic, ben kweller, le tigre, coheed, john prine, teenage fanclub, dylan, the ny dolls, the yeah yeah yeahs, social distortion, u2, wilco and uncle tupelo and whiskeytown and all that, pavement, bob smith and the cure, the black keys, green day, belle and sebastian, ryan adams, the cars, the clash, ramones, buzzcocks, alison krauss, mooney suzuki, isaac hayes's older stuff, outkast, BADLY DRAWN BOY BADLY DRAWN BOY BADLY DRAWN BOY HOLY SHIT HE PLAYED AT OUR STORE AND HE'S NICE AND SHIT IT'S AWESOME STUFF LISTEN TO IT SOON, darkness, the kinks, postal service, pixies, kansas (shut up), pretty girls make graves, white stripes, stereolab, murder city devils, tears for fears and depeche mode and duran duran, son volt, the black crowes, macy gray is awesome i don't care what anybody says, that girl has the funk up in her, speaking of figgetyfunk paul simon (with the muscle shoals rs, not so much garfunkel) and stevie wonder, the stooges, prince, bowie, Q-tip, elvis and elvis costello, coldplay is repetitive like everybody says but that's okay I like my shitty pap repetitive so rock on, pearl jam was good stuff, rilo kiley, the motherfuckin red hot chili peppers, beck, the flaming lips (their show together a couple of years ago was great), the spree, rufus wainwright, kings of leon, both buckleys, zero 7 is nice, super furry animals, B52s are awesome and freddy schneider's cool all by himself, p funk, stevie ray, kenny wayne, blind lemon, black eyed peas, the roots, pavement, counting crows, superdrag, dandy warhols, nick cave, the new death cab album sounds good enough to make me forget that i hated the other death cab albums, nada surf, zeppelin, lou reed w or wo the vu but nico was a trick ass bitch, and maybe weezer more than anyone cause deep down I'm just a little bitch.
I like them. my favorite movie is the blues brothers cause I can always watch it. I'm not a dummy when it comes to movies, but still- no matter how much I like any other kind of movie, when I go to the video store and I don't have anything in mind, I always get a comedy, so I like a lot of those. Eddie Murphy stuff-coming to america and trading places, amelie was good, I like the coen brothers a lot, lilo and stitch was funny, lost in translation was good no matter what john says, jim carrey is funny so i ignore the majestic, and I'm a woody allen nut; and I like john cusack a lot esp. high fidelity and grosse pointe blank and all that, and I think his sister's kinda cute in a weird way; I still watch Labyrinth and little monsters with fred savage sometimes. also, fahrenheit 9/11 did some good, and I like wes anderson's style a lot. tombstone fuckin rocks; i just saw city of God and it's gotta be the best movie I've seen in four years or so. i just got baise moi in from netflix so I guess I'll be plowing through a case of beer to get drunk enough to watch THAT creepy shit pretty soon. also, anything with mickey rourke. and i got to watch hitchhiker's guide, kung fu hustle, and donnie darko again, all in a row one night. so that was a pretty good day. March of the penguins was just retarded, sickeningly cute, so go see that shit when you can. And as for me being a dork and kind of a nut, I really, really liked the Weather Underground.
not so much, but family guy and the simpsons are still funny, chappelle is great, and I watch the daily show whenever I'm home for it. I like watching stand up on comedy central and cooking shows are cool- I like graham kerr (galloping gourmet, pompous bastard, etc) and the naked chef on food network, and yan can cook on pbs, so I try to catch those as much as i can. Older snl-eddie murphy seasons are good, but bill murray seasons are better. I like that quantum leap show, with dean stockwell and scotty bakula. good stuff, there. Sometimes telemundo is decent, til i remember i don't speak spanish. the tv stays on cnn when i'm not home or when i'm cooking and i can't pay attention to anything for long. that's pretty much everything; tv's hard to catch cause i'm usually working out, y'know-beefin' up for the WSMC - That's the World's Strongest Man Competition for all you pussies. (Actually I'm playing with my dog or eating cereal). If you're online and like weird funnny shit like me, check out SaveToby.com, Maddox.Xmission.com, TourettesGuy.com.

I read some. Cormac McCarthy is good, so's Paul Auster; and Ian Fleming is fun. Eudora Welty. Oh, and Nick Hornby can write a pretty good story, too. Otherwise it's political biographies and whatnot. Anyway, mostly fiction, all around. Reading a lot of Elmore Leonard right now. Great line: "His ambition was to rob rob a bank in every state of the union. Or maybe just forty-nine, fuck Alaska."
Rivers Cuomo, Robert Johnson, John Prine, Carleton Watkins, Ansel Adams, Bill Hicks, George Jefferson, Hank Williams, John Belushi, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Chuck Close, Mark Rudd and Brian Flanagan, and my mom (just to get all gay about it).
