Ok, so I'm addicted to cooking, baking, making very dark chocolate, and wine tasting. It's an Italian problem. Actually, the mess I make while doing it is the problem. I'm getting into walking/hiking. But unfortunately, since going by myself into the hills is not the safest idea, I trek to Pasadena and get lost in Huntington Gardens. Writing, hopefully something good. Creating another series to put on the "pile o' things to try and convince executives that it's good." I like going out and all, but sadly, I rather stay in and watch a cheezy sci fi movie. I still love animation. Meeting the people here that I had admired while dreaming away in NY back in '96 is still a thrill. Seeing Batman and Justice League at Warners on the wall next to Bugs Bunny is pretty neat. Gadgets and my mac. I rather get a super colossal plasma screen video game holodeck (ohhh if that only existed) than a piece of jewelry. I like to travel when I can. Scotland is a top favorite along with Italy...many summers there at my grandmother's house. Of course, going back to NY alot. Better grammar is an interest. For a supposed writer, I can barely put a sentence together. I am articulate in person, but on the page...man...him card read good.
Those who ought to be met.
I just saw the Rolling Stones at Dodger Stadium and it reminded me of how awesome they are. Why Billy Blanks has aerobic videos and Mick Jagger doesn't, I will never know. The Beatles have influenced me heavily. Enough to where I have two left-handed basses, a semi-acoustic guitar and a keyboard crammed into my livingroom messing up the joint. Yes it's sad, but I sneak Power Rock in there sometimes... brainwashing from Long Island. Jazz, Celtic rock, film scores, Ella Fitzfgerald, Oingo Boingo, and Classical. But not at the same time.
I am a sucker for Sci-fi and comedy. And if you can put them together in a movie, then you've hooked me for sure. Classic Hollywood films as well. I'd say, most Billy Wilder, Speilberg, and Stanley Donen films. Action/Adventure, Fantasy and certain Horror. I'm more along the lines of an Evil Dead 2 and Slither type of gal. Superhero movies...and I still sit through the bad ones.
LOST. Curse J.J. Abrams and his ability to bamboozle. I just started watching Heroes because apparenty I am a sucker for comic book fonts and eclipses. God I miss Firefly. I cannot stress that enough. Inspires me creatively to no end. Not to mention Nathan Fillion. His eyes say everything. It makes me want to be a better writer, knowing there is an actor out there who can trully convey your intent. House because Hugh Laurie is brilliant whether he is a son of a bitch or an 18th century idiot. Of course, Reno 911 because Carlos rocks!! And because he says 'Eyy, Muro' everytime he sees me. Food Network is often playing in the background. Alton Brown is my gastronomic god. The Simpsons, Family Guy and Veronica Mars when I can. Buffy reruns of course. And yes, I admit it: I am a Star Trek TNG fan. It's old, the sets are disturbingly tan and I can't bear to watch pre season 3, but I still love it. Sounds like a lot of TV. But it is sporadic. I swear!
Will people think me pathetic and uneducated if I say comic books? Oh well, too bad. I like comic books. Sucker for Xmen since my teens. And my nephews will have their pick of my giant dusty box in the attic someday. But I am a reference book freak. Anything I can learn and soak up, from astrophysics to the history of swords.
My family of ten women. My mom being at the top. And Wonder Woman. I've wanted to be her since I was 5.
