Its free training and experience. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore acting techniques and methods. It is an opportunity to work with theatre graduates and professionals (who perform for a living).
------------------------------------------
Last year participants of the Louisiana Renaissance Festival were able to take 72 hours of training before the festival started. Participants in the workshops learned many topics from creating a character through costuming, to refining the nuances of movement. The training included many local and national instructors. This year workshops are being held the second Saturday of every month. Additional and advanced workshops may be offered on other days.

Dave Ruffin is a triple threat from Dallas TX, who covered creating and developing functional characters. Designed to help those who have never performed before.
Ryan Gigliotti is a Theatre director, fight choreographer, and equity actor and with Walt Disney World FL. Focused his instruction ..ment and “filling in the blanks” of characters. This workshop was designed for the intermediate performer, looking to improve their performance abilities.
Margaret Lipscomb of Baton Rouge LA covers the difference between costuming and “Garb.”
Kenn Dickson, of the “Renaissance Living History Center” covers everyday life of Renaissance Europe. You learn many of the games they played and background for your historic characters.
Leigh Dokos, with the Sisters of Fortune taught period dances (for those interested).
