The RI Stingrays are part of the United Soccer League. Participating in the Premier Development League (PDL), the Stingrays play in the Northeast Division of the
Eastern Conference. The Stingrays are the soccer
stars of tomorrow, providing
college age players professional experience during the summer months, while enabling them
to still play at the college level during the school year.Recently one of our brighest stars, Nico Colaluca, out of Virginia University and La Salle Academy, was selected 6th in the 2007 MLS Superdraft by the Colorado Rapids as well as former Stingray Jeffrey Gonsalves who was selected 40th by Toronto FC. In the 2008 MLS Superdraft, Geoff Cameron was selected by the Houston Dynamo, the two-time defending MLS Cup Champions. The Stingrays provide family entertainment to the community, holding games at the official home at Pierce Memorial Field in East Providence, Rhode Island. The Stingrays are committed to being an exciting and educational part of the Rhode Island community.During the summer months the stingrays run soccer camps for children aged 5-18. The Stingrays Soccer Camps give children the opportunity to meet the Stingrays players and learn from great communicators who present themselves as positive role models for children. The Stingrays look forward to a great season in 2007 including competitive challenges for the players and great entertainment for the community.
