Mido
Tottenham reached a £6 million fee with Birmingham City for Mido on 20 July 2007.Birmingham manager Steve Bruce said the move was close to collapsing, as the deal reportedly faltered over the wages and the length of contract Mido was demanding.The deal eventually fell through as he demanded there be clause's that he wanted in the contract.In August 2007 Sunderland made a £6 million bid for him and held talks.Birmingham confirmed they were trying to revive their deal to sign Mido.Middlesbrough then revealed their interest in signing him, matching the £6 million of Birmingham and Sunderland and were given permission to speak to him.We eventually signed Mido for a fee of £6 million on a four-year deal in August 2007.He scored on his debut for Middlesbrough against Fulham and on his home deubt against Newcastle United.
Tuncay
On June 13, 2007, Middlesbrough F.C. confirmed they had agreed personal terms with Tuncay and the move was now subject to a medical. Tuncay arrived in Middlesbrough on June 18, 2007 to complete his medical.After passing his medical on June 22, 2007, he attained a work permit on July 4, 2007, and completed his free transfer to Middlesbrough F.C..On July 12, 2007, Tuncay was interviewed by the Evening Gazette and talked about his ambitions for the upcoming season. He said the following:"My aim was to play in Europe one day and I have done that in previous seasons. It is also very important for me to play in the Premier League and that, too, is going to happen. But I want to get Middlesbrough back into Europe."
Aliadiere
Middlesbrough completed the signing of Aliadière on 19 June 2007, for an initial fee of £2m . He has several under 21 caps for France .
