About Me

Suzanna Mizell is an active performer of 20th and 21st century opera. In March, she won the 2008 preliminary round of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist awards and will be competing later this month in Utah at the regional finals. You can also catch her reprising her role as Lte Uhura in the Star Trek cult classic Amok Time on April 14th 2008 at the Boxcar Play house in San Francisco.Ms. Mizell has sung leading roles with SOLO Opera, Contemporary Opera Marin, and Goat Hall Productions. In 2007 she maintained her position as one of the Bay Area’s leading signers of art song with a first place finish at the SFBA NATS festival in the category of art song as well as second place in the operatic aria division. She was a 2005 East Bay Opera League Scholarship winner, the SFBA NATS festival 2005 1st place winner for Oratorio performance. In 2004 she tied for 1st place in Art Song division at the SFBA NATS festival. She was also National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards regional finalist and a Mu Phi Epsilon scholarship recipient in 2004. Ms. Mizell has been the class coordinator for the annual Holy Names University Opera Scenes Production for the past five years and teaches voice privately in San Francisco...Roles: Brunhilde in Cats, Dogs, and Divas with Goat Hall Productions 2006, 2007; Narrator in The Pied Piper with Goat Hall Productions 2006; Lte.
