I have been working with henna since 1997. I use only pure natural henna grown in the fields of Pakistan, India, & Morocco. I never use chemical additives in my henna paste. "Black Henna" does not exist, however henna paste laced with a chemical called Paraphenylenediamine or PPD does. PPD is found in black and brown hair dye. It is not meant for use as a skin dye and it is against the law to do so. PPD is a transdermal toxin and can cause adverse reactions to those who are sensitive or allergic ranging from mild skin irritation, chemical burns & scarring to immune system problems and possibly bladder cancer. "Black Henna" is often found in tourist locales. Beware of the "Black Henna" peddler! Never allow, much less pay someone to put "black henna" on your skin!
