About Me

First things first. Yes, my real name is Truly. No, your joke/pun/song is neither hilarious nor original. on average, I hear at least 5 name jokes a week. I'm 20 years old. 5 jokes X 52 weeks in a year X 20 years = 5200 damned name jokes. AND YOU WONDER WHY I'M NOT AMUSED!?
I love bouncing off the energy of other people. I revel in the fast-paced rushing social environment of the clubs and gatherings I frequent. But lately, I am loving time on my own being a good little introvert.
I'm used to the odd looks from people who just don't get the joke, and I treasure those who do.
I love performing, though I dont get to do as much as I might like. I broadcast on BFM87.6 (details below). In Radio, I have discovered a passion for life. I'm currently a spruiker for "Spruiking Specialists" and it really is a dream job for me. Since early 2006 I've played either Janet or Columbia in the Brisbane Rocky Horror Picture Show cast "Cards for Sorrow". Having been obsessed by the movie since well before kindergarden (yes that probably does explain a few things,) its really incredible to be an active part of the cult phenomenon! Apart from that, I'm open to all sorts of new performance experiences; I'd love to get more into really any form of acting, voice-overs, and do some more casual modelling - If you're looking, let me know!
I have I love dressing up, even just for me, but even more for an audience. I love to dance and feel the music move my body, whether it looks good or not. The only formalised dance class I've ever done was bellydancing, and it really shows. I would say yes in an instant if offered the opportunity to really learn burlesque.
I have a memory like a sieve with the mesh punched out. Be Ye Warned; whatever it is, I'm probably not going to remember it. Yes that includes the names of family and loved ones. Please try not to be offended.
Ultimately, what I strive for in the progression of my existence is to be a person I can be happy and proud to be, living in comfort and my own personal definition of sucess. I value experience above all else, but not at all costs. Cautious yet confident, daring yet reserved, at once both colder and warmer than you can know... lets just say I'm a believer in duality.
This is me, or part of it.
Yours,
Truly.

as well as the ever-present show tunes from various musicals that float in and out of my musical consciousness

Movies:

Rocky Horror Picture Show, Phantom of the Opera (Webber Adaptation), Curious George, Casino Royale, the whole ‘Saw’ franchise, V for Vendetta, Zombie Honeymoon, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inside Man, Moulin Rouge, Phantom Of The Paradise, I Spit on Your Grave, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Queen of the Damned, The Illusionist, 28 Days Later, Hard Candy, Little Shop of Horrors, anything by Miyazaki … that’ll do for now.

Television:

House, Thank God You're Here, The New Inventors, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Scrubs, The Simpsons (come on, who doesn't?) Drawn Together, Family guy, American Dad, Old Liquid Television and Eat carpet (for those who remember), Planet Sketch, Black Books, Black Adder, House. But honestly, I really dont watch much TV, it just doesn't seem to hold my interest.

Books:

Absolutely everything Terry Pratchett has ever written, ditto Isaac Asimov, Niel Gaiman and J. K. Rowling. Very impressed with Max Brooks' World War Z and Zombie Survival Guide. Enjoying the comic book series "Y - The Last Man". My favourite poet for the time being would have to be William Blake. And give me a comic book or a copy of Reader's Digest any day.Look, to be honest, I probably read more Harry Potter fanfiction than anything else and definitely more than is completely sane or healthy, so I'll gleefully credit Mizafim, Ladyofthemasque, FernWithy, A. L. De Sauvterre, Alchemilla, Ashtur an'Vangan, Imogen, Simons_Heat and countless others for wonderful hours spent in the products of their minds. Quiet, you.
