To Improve IsToChange. To Be Perfect Is To Change Often.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

This is a tough one, but I think I would love to have dinner with my two Grandmothers, one (my father's mom) I have never met and would just love to meet her and what better place for someone to get to know me that at a dinner table. I spent a fair amount of time with Mamaw (mom's mom, obviously) and I would just be curious see if she would approve of my cooking, I always loved hers. Okay now to the list (people love list): Arnold Palmer, Fred Couples, Julia Childs, Emeril (just cause), Bobby Flay, and Bob Costas. I think there are so many more but I think these would be ones that would be on the top of the list.

Music:

www.thetranscenders.com.....RIP www.theticket.com........................ I love music, but I love Live music the most. I am not a big fan of the radio, probably because it is always on the AM tuner, but I do enjoy music. There are too many bands, groups, and people to name so I won't. I like all types of music and love hearing new music, so if you think I will like it, send it!

Movies:

I do not really watch alot of movies but there are a few that stand out; I can still watch Top Gun anytime, Dazed and Confused, Hoosiers, Scarface, Tommy Boy, Happy Gilmore, Waiting, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Pi, Sideways, Van Wilder, Blow, Requiem for a Dream, and Sandlot.... I am sure there are many more but that is about it, I also love watching ESPN Classic and most of those are as long as a movie so that could count.

Television:

Well I have a few things I watch on a weekly basis, obsessed with House on Fox, and I am.......here it goes...........addicted to American Idol, I do not know what it is about this show but I am addicted. I enjoy the CSI's, Law and Order's and am becoming a fan of Grey's Anatomy. That is usually all with Melanie, but she is a trooper and is getting into the sports. Nothing sexier than your girlfriend talking about how the Jet's just gave up 28 un-answered points. Yeah that really happened. When I have the T.V. to myself it surfs between ESPN'S (that is right, all of them), Food Network, and re-runs of the classics, sports classics that is, I love watching all the games on ESPN Classics. I am also an Iron Chef junkie, I think I have seen everyone of both shows, the old and the new one.

Books:

Reading of books is not one of my favorite things, as a matter of fact the only kind of books that I read are culinary related. I enjoy all types of cook books, I have quite a few of Bobby Flay's books, most people get sucker in by the sodas, magazines or candy at the checkout lanes but not me I get suckered by Betty Crocker, that B!t(.. has taken alot of my money. Any book on Sushi and or Japanese cuisine, I am IN! I do enjoy reading about cuisines from around the world. Never mix your wasabi and soy sauce when eating Sushi, that is an American thing not ever done in Japan; learned that by reading, WOW!

Heroes:

My grandfathers have both have to be my heroes. They were always both there when I was doing something growing up no matter how far they had to drive, that was cool to a kid. I would have to say that my mom is another hero, she is the greatest. I think that Emeril is a hero to me because of the way the he has help to re-invent the art and profession of being a Chef. I know that I would not be doing what I am doing without the finacial impact that he has had on the Culinary Arts. Fred Couples will always be a hero just because of his personality, he is just so calm and cool I think that is awesome.
