I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

I was born in Queens, but raised on Long Island in a typical suburban home, or so one would think from the outside. I'm not saying that anything that crazy or that unusual happened. However, looking back I'd have to say it was pretty interesting to say the least. I guess if I had to compare my home life to something, I would instantly say "That 70s Show" ( those of you that grew up in the 70's and were there know exactly what I'm talking about ) Sitting in smoke filled basements "doing that thing where we all sit in a circle" Crazy neighbors, hanging out at malls or high school fields. Then there was my school life which can only be described as "Welcome Back Kotter" but in this version, as wild and as crazy as it really, really was. People sometimes did get hurt. Myself included. Sometimes much worse. If it wasn't for all that insanity & sanity then I wouldn't be half the person that I am today.
However the one constant, the one thing that no matter what I was feeling or going through, good or bad, that I could always count on was my camera. I can't ever remember not owning one as a child, and I certainly can't see myself not owning one in the future. It was my father who first introduced me to photography. He was and still is a great photographer and my source of my inspiration and a great wealth of information. I hope this somehow gives you a little insight as to who I am.

It seems that recently, people have been asking me what kind of woman I want to meet. This is probably because I'm 42, single and have no kids. So here goes. First & foremost, I don't date girls, I date women. There is a difference, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with age. In the past few years I had a some relationships that have ended for some of the dumbest & most childish reasons. Some of them were older than me & some were younger. So right off the top, maturity would be a major turn on. Don't misunderstand looks are very, very important to me but not the most important thing on the list. I've dated women that were taller than me, shorter than me, heavier than me, whatever. For me it's the little things that I'm searching for. For instance if I make a joke & she laughs that's great, but if she not only laughs but has an even funnier comeback, then that tells me a lot about her. So a since of humor & the ability to contribute to good conversation would be another quality that I look for. Creativity, also a great turn on. The ability to create something from nothing. Either idea's, songs, poetry, painting, even humor is being creative. This leads me to being spontaneous. The thought of getting an idea and just running with it and seeing it through to the end. Like deciding at the last minute to get up in the middle of the night to go see a sunrise over the Everglades, don't get me wrong I love to see sunrises over the beach too. But there are millions of miles of beach in the world and there's only one Florida Everglades. So in the end I guess I'm looking for a spontaneous, attractive, mature, funny woman who truly loves life & knows how to appreciate it.

Well let's see, like it says, my name is Aeric and I'm a photographer. I've never been married and have no kids. Ive been in Florida for 5 years now, and although I live here, I still find it hard to call it home. I have however, met some people that I know in my Heart and Soul, that I will know for the rest of my life. I know this section is supposed to be about my "general interests", but they've all changed so much since moving down here. Yes, I still love going to movies, and restaurants, and concerts and all the social trappings of any major metropolis. I mean, lets face it people, one way or another, almost everybody likes to do those things. It's the simple things that I've done that have brought pure joy, happiness, and almost a sense of harmony & peace to my once very confused life.

One of the greatest things I can think of to do is wake up at 4 am. on a Sat. or Sun., pack up some supplies, and head out to the to the beach, photograph the sunrise over the ocean while eating breakfast. Then go straight to the Everglades continue shooting all day while heading west. Then shoot the sunset on the gulf in Naples. Have dinner and head home. There is also no better feeling then going anywhere west like the Everglades at night and just checking out the stars all night. Luckily, during the cooler season the band Crazy Fingers, has weekend camping festivals in the Everglades, with other local jam bands. Those are great because I get to see great local bands and hundreds of my friends all in one place. All dancing, all partying, all jamming in drum circles around huge bonfires. All night campfires with people cooking, or playing acoustic guitars, and some very"sweet smells" in the air, as well as in my lungs. So I guess that you could say my interests are very simple good food a good sunrise, or sunset, good company. Oh, and anyone I meet must have a great sense of humor, because I can be one sarcastic son of a bitch !

I'd like to meet:

About ten years ago I made a choice. A choice to surround myself with very creative and artistic people. Since then, I've learned to embrace some very interesting and diverse elements of life. It is because I made that choice that I've been able to take my art to new levels, and never had to worry about feeling self conscious about it. It's people like "Flash" and Alonso of the Wallflower Gallery in Miami , both great poets and political speakers, who taught me that it's ok for me to call myself an artist & not just a photographer. It's people like that, that I want to meet. People that are completely open, weather its poetically, artistically, sexually, politically or whatever. These are the types of people I need to surround myself with to feel complete

BELOW ARE BANNER LINKS TO SOME TRUE MASTERS OF THE STILL IMAGE

.. ......

Music:

..Its easy for people to name big rock bands that there into, like me I'm into The Grateful Dead, Allman Bros, and pretty much all jam bands. But to me its local Florida bands and singers. These people have Heart and passion. Crazy Fingers, at the Fishermans Wharf on Thursday nights, there is nothing else like it. Ive been going every week for five years and I ain't stopping now.Other local bands include The Grass Is Dead, The Oklahoma Boys, Milo Antics, King Bee, Bob, Sunflower Conspiracy, Jerrods Door and pretty much any body who performs at the Wallflower Gallery in Miami
Just in case thats not enough for ya here are some more big names:
GENESIS,PETER GABRIEL, THE STONES (not Fred & Wilma),BILLY JOEL, KISS,KING KRIMSON,YES,F.G.T.H.,JOHN VALBY,RUSH,AERIC CLAPTON, TENASIOUS D, RAGGED N DIRTY, CAMPFIRE NIGHTMARES,YOU2,MEATLOAF
CLASSIC ROCK, YOU GET THE IDEA!!!!!!!

Movies:

..

**********

There are just to many to mention but Ill try.Well I guess I'll start with CLERKS, a cinamatic masterpiece, as well as anything else Kevin Smith touches, I mean lets face it, the man shits gold. and then there's WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM, the other Hunter S Thompson movie, don't get me wrong , I loved FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS
Other movies would have to include: CONTACT, 2001 A SPACE ODESSY, and almost any Steve Martin movie preferebly the early stuff like THE JERK, & DEAD MEN DONT WEAR PLAID,all Monty Python movies,Natural Born Killers(funny movie),one of James Cagney's last and certainly one of his best movies ONE TWO THREE, Pink Floyd's The Wall,The Grateful Dead Movie, and the one movie that actualy sent me running and screaming out of the theatre as a kid THE EXORCIST trust me my mother was there and we still joke about it to this day.
**********

Books:

..All Hunter S Thompson books (R.I.P. you will be missed)
**********

Heroes:

..Heroes, I don't very much like that word, because to me, a hero is anyone who stands up for what they believe in. Like our soldiers overseas, or cops hear at home. Or the Firefighters, who ran full speed towards the Twin Towers, Or political activists who don't just speak there minds, they shout it at the top of there lungs. I'm not saying that I completly support the war, or believe that every law is perfect, or agree with every activist. But if there is a man or woman who is willing to die, or go to prison, without question, so we can live in some kind of civilized world. That to me is a true HERO.
However, there is a group of people that I personaly look up to, and that have had real infuence on my life. First there's my parents. My mother who, as a child, survived nazi occupied France, by being hidden with a non Jewish family then being reunited with my grandparents after the war. Growing up to become one of the toughest and most compassionate women I've ever met. Then there's dad. His photographic and fatherly advice have allways been dead on perfect. He is the one who would wake me as a child, at 6 am on cold New York January weekends to go take pictures. " Because thats The clearest & best natural lighting of the year" This is where my love of bitter cold weather comes from, and my appreation for trying every type of photography that I possibly can, and that photography has no limits.
Other influences would have to be be Alan Diaz, who ran into the house and took the famous photo of Elian Gonzalez with the I.N.S. machine gun pointed at him.
Annie Liebovitz, who's photographic limits are unlimited. You've got to respect anyone that can get Whoopie Goldberg naked in a bathtub full of milk, with only her head, knees, & arms sticking out.
Then there's the living master. Clyde Butcher. He's a jolly mix of Santa Claus & Ansel Adams. He is not only a nature photographer, but he is, the, nature photographer for our generation. A true living legend.
