The Kinetics

R.I.P. Kinetics 1997 - 2000

About Me

Formed in 1997 in St. Louis, The Kinetics had a sound that mixed Two Tone and Rock with a hint of First Wave and Punk. The early line up had a full horn section, but after many changes in a short amount of time the core members went with a single sax player. This was also influenced by the fact that the band was starting to play alot of out of town shows. As a six piece The Kinetics started heading in a more Two Tone sound. Over the years The Kinetics opened for many great bands like Skinner Box, Skavovee, The Robustos, Laurel Aitken, The Siren Six, Deals Gone Bad, The Skatalites, New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, The Skalars, and many more. The Kinetics recorded alot of songs and released them on comps for labels like Moon Records and JumpStart, but never released a full CD. The Kinetics broke up in the summer of 2000. Many of the members went on to other bands like Goodnight Ghost, Murder City Players, and The Civilized Age.
