Forming a band to attempt to re-create our very own version of the 1970's classic bands such as The Jam and The Clash, our feel is modern music is at an all time low. Although it has been said too many bands are just following suit, we feel we have a mix of 1970's punk incorparating some very mild aspects of modern day indie music.
Todays music is to put it bluntly disgusting, a mix of a feeble attempt at rave music along with a poor mans Human League and just another Arctic Monkeys rip off. The bands doing this are fair in fair hard working and doing something they love. But all in all music they way it is going is dying
I take my hat off to a band which is attempting a different sound away from a fake Arctic Monkeys, just because we're from Sheffield does not mean we are another indie bandwagon band. Our sound incorparates some darker aspects of music and an attempt at poetic lyrics.
"Music is an art not a trend"
"Beware the bandwagon bands is the message from The Saga who are starting to significantly spread their wings since forming at the start of this year"
THE SHEFFIELD STAR
"The early crowd numbers were impressive for openers The Saga, and they had lots of local support as they ran through a succession of well played songs, seldom clocking in at just over 3 minutes. They were debuting with new drummer Chris who seemed to fit perfectly into their world"
SANDMAN MAGAZINE
"More young talent doing the rounds in the Sex City are Saga, another band that know how to produce fire bolt indie tunes such as ‘I’ve got it." THE LEADMILL
"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb."
The Saga have had the pleasure of playing with the likes of Boy Kill Boy, Dead 60's, Silversun Pickups, The Hoover Dams, The Headliners, The Answering Machine, The Rushes, Grace, The Landuas, Vegas Child, The Situationists and Up Carey Street but to name a few.
