VS-webzine

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 Que de chemin parcouru depuis avril 1999 quand, lors d’un week-end pluvieux, celui qui deviendra VsGreg décide de créer son propre webzine. Son nom vient d’un titre du groupe de Thrash SACRED REICH, parce que ça sonne bien Violent Solutions et ça permet d’avoir le diminutif sympa et court : VS ! Au début, VS fournit plein de news en français, mais on retrouve aussi les rubriques Kroniks (avec juste IMMORTAL et DEVIN TOWNSEND), MP3, Remember, Liens… le tout sur une seule page. Le premier numéro sort le 7 mai 1999, si vous voulez voir à quoi ça ressemble : cliquez ici (à vos risques et périls) Dès le début, VS décide de parler de tous les styles de « musique violente », que ce soit du Hard FM, du Hard Rock, du Glam, du Heavy, du Speed, du Thrash, du Punk, du Hardcore, du Gothic, de l’Indus, du Death ou du Black, tout en donnant la même place à une demo qu'à un groupe sur une major. Depuis, le webzine s’est considérablement enrichi (en qualité et en quantité) avec l’arrivée constante de rédacteurs talentueux, le départ de certains, l’abandon du concept de numéro avec le passage en php3/mysql en juin 2002 et la mise en place du forum.VS s’est même permis le luxe d’avoir deux festivals portant son nom : - le VS Fest #1 (le 21 mars 2004, avec LOUDBLAST, GOJIRA, NO RETURN, THE OLD DEAD TREE, SCARVE et GARWALL). - le VS Fest #2 (le 28 mai 2006, avec ABORTED, KAIZEN, SUP, KRONOS, CARNIVAL IN COAL, MALMONDE, BENIGHTED, OUTCAST, PITBULLS IN THE NURSERY, HACRIDE et WORMFOOD).En juillet 2005, est aussi sortie en partenariat avec Listenable, la compilation "Revolution Calling" rassemblant les groupes français Metal/Hardcore les plus innovants et convaincants du moment, à savoir KEVORKIA, GTI, HACRIDE, ZUBROSWKA, GOJIRA, SCARVE, COMITY, HELLMOTEL, SUPERSTATIC REVOLUTION, PITBULLS IN THE NURSERY, INHATRED, NERV, AENIMA, MORGUE, KLONE, THE ARRS, NERV, EYELESS, AS WE BLEED, "????" dans un package CD/DVD contenant 18 titres audio et 13 vidéos.VS a également été élu "deuxième meilleur site web Metal" par les lecteurs de Hard N'Heavy en 2004, avant de décrocher la première place de cette même catégorie en 2005 et 2006 ! Janvier 2007 : VS a enfin sa page MySpace officielle ! Its very name comes from the famous Thrash Metal band SACRED REICH. "Violent Solutions", that sounds pretty well and you can quickly sum it up : VS. In the beginning, VS spreads a lot of news in French with the usual stuffs: reviews (IMMORTAL and DEVIN TOWNSEND only), oldies, links… all of that would be condensed on one page only… The first issue was on line on the 7th of May 1999, if you want to check it out, click here if you dare!***From the start, VS was keen on dealing with all "violent" musical genres : may it be Hard FM, Hard Rock, Glam, Heavy, Speed, Thrash, Punk Hard Core, Gothic, Indus, Death, Grind or Black Metal. No priority given to any of these genres, pure equality. Violent Solutions makes no difference between a demo and a disc released through a major label. Later on, the Webzine underwent an incredible development… The quality and the quantity never stopped its growth. This was possible thanks to the numerous skillful reviewers who enriched the webzine, some left the zine, and some new one got enlisted. The main innovations were: the end of the "issue" system and the creation of the forum which opened in June 2002.***VS even managed to organize two VSfests : -21/03/04 VS Fest#1 feat. LOUDBLAST, GOJIRA, NO RETURN, THE OLD DEAD TREE, SCARVE and GARWALL-28/05/06 : VS FEST#2 feat. That coprod with Listenable Recs gathered the most important French Metal/ HxCx bands like KEVORKIA, GTI, HACRIDE, ZUBROSWKA, GOJIRA, SCARVE, COMITY, HELLMOTEL, SUPERSTATIC REVOLUTION, PITBULLS IN THE NURSERY, INHATRED, NERV, AENIMA, MORGUE, KLONE, THE ARRS, NERV, EYELESS, AS WE BLEED, "????" 18 tracks and 13 video clips in a CD / DVD packaging.***The readers of the French zine "Hard'n'Heavy" voted for VS as the "best Metal webzine", in 2004, VS hit the 2nd place, but in 2005 & 2006, people praised our leadership.
