The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be~ Socrates

About Me

I am what I am ~ Popeye
I don't hold much shame about who I am or what I am. I'm a fairly open book. I don't need to yell everything from the rooftop but there aren't many questions that I"m not willing to answer, I believe we are only human and are all connected and if we have to have so much shame about the things that make us human, than something is wrong.
I believe in intangible things that don't have tangible benefits. I believe in honor, intergrity, truth, trust, justice and respect.
I believe we should try to accept people for who they are but I don't believe that we have to accept all their behaviors. I believe a person doesn't have to change who they are to change how they act. I believe in constantly improving yourself: mental, physical, emotional. I think it's important to be self-aware even if it's difficult sometimes.
I believe there is value in trying to be a good person, however, it's nothing you can see, it's only something you feel. There won't be any trumpets blowing because you did something nice for someone, it's a kind of "just because" situation. If you're only here for yourself, then What's the point, go live in cave. If you can't even bring yourself to say hello to the tollbooth operator, smile at a store clerk, or take a moment to put down your cell phone to acknowledge the cashier and notice that there's a human being standing there in front of you, then that's very sad and you deserve to have your cell phone up yer arse.
I believe in kindness and consideration and gentleness however I don't believe you should let yourself be a doormat. There's something called compromise. You can make your desires known without using a verbal baseball bat.
I believe in rules. I believe in some rules, I do not believe in all. I think it goes back to the golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I believe if you walk around breaking all the rules then you have no right to bitch about it when someone else does and it affects you. It's called Karma...or something like it. I do believe, however, that some people have too many rules for themselves...or maybe it's just OCD lol
I don't believe it when people spill their opinion all over you and tell you they are "just being honest". No, you are not just being honest, you are sharing your unsoliciated opinion with me. You have done something more to please yourself than to help me and so to me, it's no longer something for me, but for your vanity. If it's not going to truly help someone, then STFU.
And even though life seems oh so complicated, even to me, I believe at its essence it's very simple: Take care of your own shit so no one else has to, that's always been my motto.
And sometimes, I think we all should just get a grip, we're all only here a little while and we got one shot, so hopefully we all try to make it the best. I believe the best thing you can do for the people in your life that you love, is to just truly love them. They are going to be the ones that miss you.
xoxo
and one final note...I believe there's always time in life for a little craziness, it's what keeps you sane.
