Smith/Sixkiller is the result of a collaboration by two former co-workers who happened to be musicians outside of the office. Tim Smith has been playing guitar for a number of years, and had been digitally recording his own material in his studio apartment.
Steve Sixkiller had also been playing guitar for a number of years, and was focusing his attention toward vocal work. Smith heard a sample of Sixkiller covering a classic Dobie Gray tune, and decided to record music with him.
With the tentative project name "silentmaster", the two recorded an 8 song demo CD using drum loop software (this is what is currently posted on myspace.com), with Smith writing and recording all guitar and bass tracks. Sixkiller provided his lyrics and vocals to what became a surprisingly edgey black and blue brand of rock music.
