Why Robbie Williams??
Robbie is a checky lad from Stoke-On-Trent, He started out in the music business very early on in life. He has changed many lives just through his lyrics. He puts so much thought into them, and it really show's. It's amazing watching him live, singing these songs that made him famous and seeing the emotion on his face. Makes you just fall in love with him. He's been through a lot in his life, but worked hard to get where he is today.♥
Robbie's Bio
Robert Peter Maximiliam Williams was born on the 13th of February, 1974 in the Royal Infirmary Hospital, New Castle Under Lyme. Son of Peter and Jan and brother to Sally. His parents separated when Robbie was only 3 years old. Robbie joined Take That at 16, He was the 5th member along with Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange their rise to fame began. Having huge success, also came with the pit falls of fame. For Robbie it was booze and drugs. In 1995 Robbie left Take That and spent the next year on a massive drinking and drug binge. Robbie released ‘Freedom’ a George Michael cover to keep his record company off his back. Though finally 1997, After finding Guy Chambers they release ‘Life Thru To Lens’, It didn’t have major success to begin with. When ‘Angels’ Was released, was the day everything changed for Robbie music wise, though he was yet to fight away his demons. Next came ‘I’ve been expecting you’ came with songs such as ‘Strong’, ‘She’s The One’ and ‘Milliennium’ came with some success. His next album was ‘Sing When Your Winning’ with song such as ‘Rock DJ’, ‘Kids’ a duet with Kylie Minogue. Had huge success and was number 1 for 40 weeks. During which time, before touring Robbie checked himself into rehab to bet his addictions once and for all. ‘Swing When Your Winning was released not long after. A swing album full of duets by all of his all time favourites. Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin. He was join by everyone from his childhood pal Jonathan Wilkes to friends such as Jane Harrock, Rupert Everett and even Sinatra himself. Robbie said it was the most fun he’s had and could do swing album after swing album because he loves it so much. To showcase is swing talents, he performed them in a one night only show at The Royal Albert Hall, which was filmed and released as a DVD.
Robbie made history when he signed with EMI for a further 5 records, the amount of which was £10 million. The album that followed was ‘Escapology’ with an excellent group of songs ranging from a heart felt ballad ‘Feel’ to ‘Come Undone’, a tongue in cheek song taking the piss out of himself with ‘The World’s Most Handsome Man’ and a sweet song written in the memory of his Grandma Betty with ‘Nan’s Song. At which time Robbie and Guy went their sperate ways, their’s being the most successful song writing partnership of the ‘90’s.
Robbie play three night at Knebworth to a massive 375,000 over three nights, knocking Oasis off the top spot for most nights. A little victory for Mr. Williams with that one.
Followed was a book about his everyday life past, present and future. A glimpse into his life, and the fans loving every bit of it. A ‘Greatest Hit’s’ album followed before Robbie took a well needed break only to find himself writing a new record with new song writing partner ‘Stephen ‘TinTin’ Duffy of ‘The Lilac Time’ fame. Both bringing their own elements to the new album “Intensive Care’. Which had major success with songs ‘Trippin’, ‘Sin, Sin, Sin’, ‘Advertising Space’ and ‘Make Me Pure’.
Which brought a new tour, The biggest ever stage set and millions of fans wanting to see Robbie doing what he does best. Entertaining his arse off. Half way through his tour, Robbie released a new album ‘Rudebox’ Which had a lot of mixed reviews. Some saying his best work yet, other saying he’s lost the plot. But the fans seemed to love it. Robbie has just finished his ‘Close Encounters Tour’ ending in Melbourne, Australia. What’s next for Robbie? Well who knows, but whatever it is we’ll be with him every step of the way. As will Robbie’s Fan’s Myspace bringing you all the latest news as soon as we know it.
