Chris Conly is a New York City Guitarist, Composer and Educator originally from Portland, Maine.
As a performer, Chris has extensive performance experience throughout the United States with groups ranging from the Boston street-soaked hip hop of the Universal Truth to the indie-folk rock vingettes of Audrey Ryan. Chris has also performed and recorded for film & television, and off-broadway productions.
As a composer and arranger, Chris continues to work with an ever-diversifying group of artists, from the swinging sounds of Jazz & Blues (Jeff Coffin) to Classical nuance (David Newsam) and even the Avant Garde (Kevin Norton). Chris always strives to cross borders and connect to the essence of the music, without losing his honesty of approach.
Chris's TRIO+1 injects the excitement of Rock ‘n Roll and long form improvisation into a blender to create a nutritious smoothie of hip-shaking grooves, outer-worldly textures and avant-soul melodies.
