Back in July 2003, the AndyHallett013 Yahoo message board was born. It was a gathering place for Andy Hallett fans to discuss and celebrate a talented young actor and his roles. Well, what a lively bunch came a’callin’!With a vibrant, highly active membership, the board posts an average of over 100 messages a week. In less than two years, 4400 (and counting) messages had been posted.Although the posts are light-hearted, occasionally ribald and a little rowdy, we often go ‘off topic’ and share things about our personal lives, insights, opinions, experiences, and occasionally just let our hormones out to play. Many of us have developed a sense of community and closeness that transcends fandom and touches the bonds of true friendship.Well, it was around October (Halloween time!) 2004 when thoughts on the board turned to demons, holidays, chocolate treats, and somehow someone suggested making a chocolate sculpture of Lorne (kinda like an Easter bunny). Of course, being who we are (naughty girls! And a few naughty guys, I suspect), someone recommended that a Lorne chocolate sculpture should be nude (hey, nude sculpture is classic art!). When another boardie replied “Nude Chocolate Lorne! My dreams have come true!â€, a phenomenon was born. The members of the AndyHallett013 Yahoo message board became the Nude Chocolate Lorne Society.Since then, we’ve created our own irreverant website, celebrating Andy, Lorne, and chocolate – all very sweet things we have lots of fondness for : ). Our enthusiasm launched our first well received “project†as an affiliated group of fans -- Project Big 3-0 -- a celebration of Andy Hallett’s 30th birthday on August 4, 2005. This was rapidly followed up by 'Spring fever' presented at Starfury's Not Fade Away in May 2006. We are proud to say that these and other charitable projects have raised mucho monies for the LA Regional Food Bank.So…is the chocolate nude? Is Lorne nude? Or are we nude? It’s your call. But we cordially invite you to join us in our appreciation and enthusiasm, as well as ribald good times, humor, wackiness, and heartfelt closeness.Andy. Chocolate. Lorne. Three things that make life wonderful.
