Floating Thespian Washes Ashore: trys to adapt to life on land

About Me

Born in Spokane, decent young childhood, horrid adolescence, slightly improved teen years (good school and good friends helped mitigate not-so-good family times), moved to Oregon at 16 (some people find god to help through rough times, I found theater!), pretty crazy & rather wasteful young adulthood, finished AAA degree in Music Business in early 20's and went to work at a record store, met a girl, got a "real job", lived (sorta)domestically until mid-20's, sailed away on cruise ships in mid-20's, left said cruise ships late 2004 to return to school, set to finish BA in Communications (focus on Intercultural, Political, and PR)in 2008. Was going to add a Sociology minor until I realized it would add another quarter or two of study! Hope to get a job that will allow me to roam some more yet earn a good living (sights set on the Foreign Service)--would be nice to find someone to roam with eventually.

My Interests

Reading, wRiting, but hate aRithmetic. TRAVEL. Developing a taste for Champagne. Live shows--both music and theater. Getting myself healthy again (It's been over a year since I quit smoking!!). Finishing school so I can get on with the next chapter!

I'd like to meet:

You, You, You, Not You. Your'e hot, definatly You! Maybe you too? I'm really keen on re-connecting with my old shipmates. I've been a bit of a knob and not kept in touch nearly as well as I should have.

Music:

Therapy?, Ministry, Concrete Blonde, Switchblade Symphony, Placebo, Mindless Self Indulgence, Lacuna Coil, My Dying Bride, Built to Spill, AFI, Snow Patrol, Written in Ashes, Metallica (pre-Black Album), Celtic Frost, Unquiet Grave and Sonic Seducer compliations. When I'm feeling nostalgic, I pull out Suicidal Tendencies, Queensryche, and general '80s hair bands and club hits :}

Movies:

Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Rules of Attraction, Requium for a Dream, Lord of War, Almost Famous, Pleasantville, Grosse Point Blank, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Usual Suspects, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 28 Days Later, Rushmore, Mirrormask.

Television:

Don't really watch TV much, but when I do I enjoy: Globetrekker, Great Cruises (a Travel Channel series that often profiles ships I've worked on--not much substance, but it helps satisfies the nostalgia), Good Eats, Iron Chef, South Park, Malcolm in the Middle.hi, you gotta look at this sweet thing for creating ur own southpark cartoon

Books:

Favorite authors include: Neil Gaiman (mainly his full length novels), S.M. Stirling, Harry Turtledove, Jacqueline Carry, Anne Rice, George RR Martin, and Tad Williams

Heroes:

Heroes are often overrated, they tend to turn out to be normal people with all the quirks and foibles that entails. Put too much faith in them and they can all too easily let you down.Your results:
