It's been sometime now that singer/songwriter Doug E. Mack has been waiting in the wings hounding his craft ,doing live performances ,studio recordings and releasing several single.
Now Doug E.mack has completed the recording of his debut album " The voyage " and he has just issued a new single, "Go and fly" which is aken from the album.This new release is flying high and it appear that this album will be flying even higher. Doug E. Mack has taken his musical career to new height with a collectiong of mostly solid and original materials
His tradition is roots in influence of the late great Jackie Mittoo, musician extraordinaire whose contribution to reggae music is immeasureble
During the early years of orientation in Toronto, he use to transport Jackie Mittoo B3 keyboard under the tutelage of Jackie Mittoo.
Born Douglas Mcleary, in Buff bay , Portland Jamaica, Doug E.Mack grew up in a strict baptist home, where he was under a tight control, however, his exposure to jokebox, sound system and radio, made for not being allowed to go to parties and dances. At age 12 his family moved to Toronto Canada where attented high school and none other than music being his forever subject. After leaving high school he attented the Italian Canadian Music Center where took Guitar lessons.
In 1990 Doug E.Mack recorded his first single " I'll alway love you"hic which was written and produce by Winston Richard on W.A.R label records . a year later collaberated with neville francis and created the bann "Possibility" , with Doug E.Mack on the keybord and lead vocals. They toured all over Canada and appeared frequetly on "Breakfast TV" 7 Channel , in Toronto. They would also back major such as Tiger, Leroy Gibbons etc. Subsequently Doug E. worked as soloist with Bull-Wakie in New Jersey and in Jamaica at Surgar Minott Youthman promotiom studio before coming to Florida.
Since his arrival in Florida he work with the Mereoli label of Dwight Oliver and Ron Meredith on which he did five songs, and had two releases on the compilation CD "Many faces of reggae". He also records two singles with KBM music "baby Please" and "Julie" with "Baby face release on a compilation album " Strange thing " with artist like Freddie McGregor, Glen Washington, and Phillp Fraser.
Doug E.Mack has been performing at verious venues Evertan Blender , Wayne Wade, Frankie Paul,Glen Washington, just to name a few. Doug E. Mack is definitely making a impact with his electrifying performance that emit, he is a must to see.
